From the 650 ml. bottle. The pour is a medium to dark amber with a tremendous light brown milkshake-like foamy head. Moderate clarity. The aroma is of pine and earth with a sweet malt character interspersed. The body is medium to full and smooth. The taste begins with the caramel malts and quickly becomes a bolder hopped bitterness that lingers on the palate at the finish.

I'm going to assume this was a bad bottle... Amber brown pour with a large beige head. Butterscotch aroma. Crazy butterscotch/diacetyl flavour with some biscuity malt and hops underneath. Tastes like this would have been great if it wasn't full of diacetyl.

Pours a dark amber with great lingering head. Aromas of coffee and chocolate.. Piney hops too. Flavors are malt driven coffee and chocolate with a balanced bitterness. Nice.

UPDATED: AUG 21, 2014 22 oz bottler served in a Belgian snifter. Pours deep red-brown in color with a decent beige head. Spotty lacing. Rich aromas with roasted grains and hops in about equal measure. Floral, fruity and toffee notes. Flavor: has that characteristic Rogue hop flavor along with a rich dark malt mix. Mildly bitter. Feel: medium body; lively carbonation.

Sample at Flatlanders Beer Festival, Wpg. Definitely not an IPA, rather an India Red Ale as described. A red ale with more hops than normal is basically what this is. That being said, I could have been even hoppier for my liking, but overall it has a nice balance, though you can’t taste the 75 IBUs because of the malt balance. Still a very nice beer.

I had this on tap at Hangar on the Wharf, Juneau, AK. I had this in a pint glass. The appearance was a dark red to almost ruddy brown color with no head because it was a bar pour. There wasn’t any lacing either. The smell was a strong caramel maltiness with a subtle roasty/nuttiness running in and out of the aroma. The taste was a caramel malty sweetness that gave me a dry roasted nutty aftertaste and lead to a super dry finish. On the palate, it sat about a medium on the body. To be honest, there really wasn’t much sessionability about it. I found when I tried to sip this, I burped a lot so once again the carbonation seemed off I guess. Overall, this is an American Red Ale, so not or anywhere close to an IPA. Therefore this was rated as an American Red Ale and actually, I didn’t really care for this.

My first and probably only crab IPA ;). Intensive fruity aroma, mostly of plums. Head disappearing to ring. Cloudy dark copper body. Medium intensive bitterness in taste with dried plums from hops. A lot of malty sweetness balances bitterness.

Pours amber with a thick foamy off white head. Aroma is malty and some citrus. Fairly sweet. Needs mor hoppiness for balance. Lots of caramel. Medium bodied. Overall nice beer.
