3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours moderately hazy ruby copper color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, orange peel, caramel, toast, floral, grass, light pine, biscuit, nuttiness, light chocolate, and floral/toasted earthiness. Pretty nice aromas with good balance and complexity of hop and malt notes; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, orange zest, caramel, toast, biscuit, floral, grass, nuttiness, light chocolate, light pine, and floral/toasted earthiness. Moderate amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, caramel, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, floral, grass, pine, and earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Good balance and complexity of malt and hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately creamy, crisp, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice amber ale. Good balance and complexity of malt and hop flavors; and very smooth to drink. This seemed to be a pretty old bottle, but still turned out to be nicely enjoyable.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours clear red, off-white head. Smells like malty- bready. Tastes really chocolatey, nutty finish, citrus hops in the middle. Not a very heavy hop flavor but definitely there, just a nice medium-bodied flavorful beer. Great beer.

Smell very malty with hints of chocolate and bread. Pours caramel-brown with a large, dense tan head. Kind of murky. Tastes very malty and thick with a nice subtle hop flavor in the background. Definitely taste figs, raisins and caramel. Very hardy brew. Good for a snowy day. Overall, mmmm mmmm good!

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nose is dark malted balls and a really healthy dose of hops. Appearance is darker that I expected but only slightly so as I had no preconceived notion of what this might be. Taste is rich and chewy yet there something amiss here. The Malts don’t swing with the hops. I think they just missed having an in-park homer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from bottle to glass a nice dark amber with off-white head. Nice carbonation and light-medium bodied mouthfeel. Aroma is malty with a distinct scent of chocolate malt and hops. Taste is initially sweet from the malt bill and nicely balanced bitternes from the hops. Chocolate malt throughout, but not overwhelming. A very interesting and nice "Northwestern Ale".
