3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bomber. Cloudy brownish red/orange pour with a thin but long-lasting off-white head. Spicy, piney hop aroma with touches of bittersweet orange candy. Flavor is bittersweet - malty with caramel and bready, crusty malts and a long dry spicy hop character. Finish is dry and hoppy. Mouthfeel is crisp and tingly with carbonation. The texture is slightly velvety with lots of bubbles. Overall, a bitter and drinkable brew. Pretty good. It’s missing a little something though - good but not quite special.

Transfer from BA review on 1-4-13-
Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance- Served an orange amber colored brew with a one finger tan head. The head faded rather fast to leave a decent level of lacing on the sides of the glass.
Smell –The nose was light overall. There were notes of a piney and grapefruit nature as well as some sweeter aromas of caramel. Mixed with these was an even lighter roast and bread smell.
Taste – The taste starts out more on the malty side. It is quickly joined by a sweet caramel flavor. Hops then start entering the taste profile. It starts with a more piney hop flavor after which a grapefruit citrus flavor comes to the tongue. By the end the hops have picked up quite a bit in intensity and end up leaving a rather satisfying pine, grapefruit and sweet but malty flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer was on the medium side in terms of its creaminess with a carbonation level that was moderate as well. The medium body and carbonation suited both the lightly sweet caramel and hoppier flavors of the brew quite well and gave a good easy drinking feel.
Overall- A rather refreshing and tasty red with a good decent hop profile. It drinks quite easy and is one I could see myself going back to on more occasions. Give it a go if you get the chance.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at the downtown brewpub. Pretty darn awesome...dark copper, translucent, with great lacing. There’s a good strong aroma, greapefruit-y hops forward but strong malt character that’s unexpected, especially the caramelized notes. I’ve never had this style before--I’m a fan!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber. Rich aroma full of sugar, and molasses, like an American Strong. Completely muddy reddish brown, opaque. Thin off white head. Hoppy, rich, burnt sugar flavor. Quite tasty. One of the better brews I’ve had from Rogue of late.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On top of a dark and very hazy burgundy body sits a big rocky or frothy head. It is light tan in color and very clingy. Thick lacey patterns stick everywhere on the glass. The aroma has a heavy pine like hop presence right as I open the bottle. Underneath the bold hops are solid rich malty sweet notes. Up first on the tongue are nice piney hop flavor notes with some hints of herbal, almost tea like, hops. The rich sweet maltiness backs this hop bitterness up and offers a good solid bass of bready flavor and sweetness. The finish has a very slow herbal and citrus hops fade that lingers on the tongue. Its palate has a smooth yet lively texture.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
From the 650 ml. bottle. The pour is a medium to dark amber with a tremendous light brown milkshake-like foamy head. Moderate clarity. The aroma is of pine and earth with a sweet malt character interspersed. The body is medium to full and smooth. The taste begins with the caramel malts and quickly becomes a bolder hopped bitterness that lingers on the palate at the finish.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
I'm going to assume this was a bad bottle... Amber brown pour with a large beige head. Butterscotch aroma. Crazy butterscotch/diacetyl flavour with some biscuity malt and hops underneath. Tastes like this would have been great if it wasn't full of diacetyl.

Rich aromas with roasted grains and hops in about equal measure. Floral, fruity and toffee notes.

Feel: medium body; lively carbonation.
