2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 ben4321 (2056) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - SEP 5, 2011
Location: Draft at Rogue SF, 5/12/11, as Buckman Chamomellow
Aroma: The aroma obviously has some chamomile, in addition, some honey and malts
Appearance: The pour is hazy and golden in color with a small white head
Flavor: The taste is overly sweet, made up of honey, chamomile, spice, and some fruity notes
Palate: This one is fairly light, and the cloying mouthfeel harms the drinkability significantly
Overall Impression:
This was some really odd stuff that I didn’t really enjoy too much. It was too sweet for my taste buds. The sweetness was cloying. I didn’t really enjoy this one.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Vertical Bacon Strips (1616) - Asshat, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 19, 2011
On tap, Nov 2010 @ some Rogue Public House in Portland or something somewhere that I found totally by accident on the way back from Pelican. Chamomile, sweet candy orange, melon, flowers, melon and honey, peaches - lots of peaches... very good aroma. The taste is also really good and unique but not that off the wall. Chamomile, sweet sweet orange, some sort of pine that is sharp and short lived, ... well, more well defined than sharp as it is not strong. Candy, odd honey, a nice citrus with very bright orange (whatever that means), melon? This is a very cool beer. A bit of spicy spritziness keeps it feeling neat. Nice carbonation zip with a smooth, peachy finish.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 BMan1113VR (6145) - Los Angeles, California, USA - MAY 16, 2011
On tap at the Rogue Public House in San Francisco (Listed as "Rogue Buckman Chamamellow"). Pours with a hazed golden hue and a small, but lasting white head. Aromas are spicy, floral, flowers, honey, tea and chamomile. Flavors are spicy, jasmine, chamomile. A bit biting. Herbal, tea, a bit earthy. Bitter finish. Lively bubbles, medium to light body. The herbal component makes it hard to drink. Smooth and bitter in the finish.
Interesting beer!

I have had only a few beers with tea and this is hands down the best. The beer is an actual base for the main flavor to shine from. Very mellow. You get a good taste of chammomile that doesn’t overpower.

Draught @ Brewer’s on the Bay, Newport, OR. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. Has a sweetish floral chamomile aroma. Sweetish malty chamomile flavor with some floral honey hints. Sweetish malty chamomile finish.

Pours hazy crazy copper - straw with white head. The aroma is bold sugar sweet malts and chamomile tea. Smells syrupy really. IT gets near to but doesn’t achieve a pepper sensation. The taste is smooth and sugar sweet with mild malts and chamomile backed by a honey and hard candy goodness. Wow, very tasty.

Bottle, at BA Throwdown #2. Not sure how old this is, but it’s definitely got some age on it. Golden red color, creamy head and lacing. Huge spicy cinnamon notes, chamomile, nutmeg, brown sugar, and hops. Chamomile flavors, cinnamon, some nutmeg and allspice. Smooth, has a lot of age and lacks a sharp bitterness. Good though, despite its flaws.
