COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue’s proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

A little dark for an heller bock. Malty, caramel, nuts, toast, butterscotch, roasty. Wunderbar heller bock. malaise.

Golden Amber body under no head. Slick, moderate mouth feel. Satisfying heartier drink. No offensive flavors but no really positive notes.

Nice looking ale. nice aroma & mouth feel. Bu,t too much of a bitter aftertaste. Not horrible but for the price, middle of the road.

Bottle from The Roebuck, Leek (Titanic) Pours a hazy amber colour with a thin white head. Aroma is malty of caramel, honey, some bread, spicy orange, subtle nuts and red berries. Taste of caramel, molasses, honey, red berries, bread then orange, cranberry and slight apple. Medium bodied and a slick texture. A quite dry, caramel then orangey, earthy bitterness in the finish. A very malty, sweetish start and then a fruity, citrusy end. Really decent.
