3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
650ml bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours a red-amber with some haze and a nice bit of lace. The nose has sundried tomatoes and a slight smokey pepper note. The taste has a slight prickle of spice and smoke and then the spice returns. There’s a malty backbone but the spice dominates a little too much as you go through the bottle. The palate is medium bodied with a creamy texture and a finish that would be fairly balanced were it not for the growing spiciness.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Pours golden brown but murky with very little head. No aroma over medium carbonation. Taste of tobacco with the mildest burn. Not a great ale.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
First off I’m rating Rogue Farms Chipotle Ale, but was redirected here. 650 ml bottle poured at home. Pours hazy Amber color, with a slight beige head that died out very quickly. Smells like caramel or toffee. Taste was pleasant; there is a sweet taste at first but then the chipotle kicks in. Not overpowering like some other Mexican stouts I’ve had. It’s a good beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap@Taphouse, Copenhagen - dark golden pour with off-white head. Aroma and taste starts sweet malty with notes of caramel, but then the spicy peppery taste kicks in, some heat building, some smokey backing, touch to spicy sweet to drink in high amounts for me, but sample was interesting enough to try nonetheless.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy tan orange in color... Aroma of light peppers, biscuity malts, caramel... Flavor is actually mostly biscuity and caramel malt forward, only slightly peppery... Solid

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
650ml bottle. Strong spiced flavors with a slight malt aftertaste. Having never tried Chipotle before I was not sure what to expect. Interesting beer but not quite to my taste.

Golden colour. Off-white lacing. Sheer Jalepenos on aroma. Some honey and spring dew as well. Taste is old school IPA, hot chili, hot finish. Meh. Not my kinda thing. Don’t really get this one. Sorry!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the Cambridge Winter Ales Festival 2016. Honey brown with a slight ring of white head. Aroma produces some chilli but also strawberry jam, cereal and wood shavings. Sweet-savoury chilli taste with a pronounced sour note in the finish. Slight pine and maple syrup suggestions as the sip slips away. Subtly warming chilli on the lips. Aftertaste is a bit glue-y, not sure about that. Good all in all and worth a try.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours dark gold with a creamy thin white head. Aromas of sweet caramel malt and slight vegetables. Flavors are grass, smokey crackery notes, sweet malt, tobacco, vegetable notes and a slight hot pepper burn. Thin but creamy mouthfeel. Actually, a well-made beer, but the addition of chipotle peppers takes the flavor in a direction that isn’t terribly enjoyable. This reminds me of a rauchbier crossed with a lager. Without the peppers, this would be a pretty delicious ale.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Shared bomber poured to snifters, showing an orangey gold, almost amber color, with some soft white head foam that reduced expeditiously to a ring & film, and left some wavy lacing on the glass. The nose was light smoke & pepper that presented a bit of betadine/Band-Aid scent, with some light fruit involved. Medium bodied, with fair carbonation, the taste included moderate & lingering, earthy bitterness, with dryness, and "better late than never" pepperiness to the finish. Okay, but the introduction disappointed.
