3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
550ml bottle poured into pint glass
a: amber color with decent 1/2" head with ok retention and good carbonation
s: Definatly notes of pepper and smoky notes. From the begining you know this is not your average beer
t: sweet malt that is balanced nicely with hop spice and spicy notes from pepper and smoke. The spice is at a nice level and not overpowering. Just enough to notice it. I think this would be excellent with a rich cheese.

Drinking around the campfire. Nate introduced me to this. Peppers in beer? Mind boggling at the time.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma - the aroma is full of smoked chipotle peppers, some complimentary light malts.
Appearance - is golden in color, with white head.
Taste - is a real pleasant smoky chipotle flavor and framing moderate malts.
Palate - It is a real pleasant drink smooth and crisp.
Probably, perfect with a nicely spiced Mexican dish.

650 ml bottle bought at YATA in Grand Century Place, Mong Kok.
Translucent amber honey colour with some dirt-like yeast sediments; Two and a half finger head with crumpet off-white foam which last for 2 minutes; Very good sticky lacing and fizzy carbonation; Fragrant and sweet aroma of ale malt, with light grapefruit, smoke, caramel, molasses, yeast, lemon and grass; Medium sweet taste of ale malt, with light smoked pepper, faint grapefruit, caramel, molasses, dry biscuit, bread, yeast, strong spices, bitter lime and sharp grass; Medium body, pretty slick palate; Mouth Feel is malty Amber Ale blended with quite decent amount of smokiness and pepper fruit taste from Chipotle, not hot at all, just peppery in taste. Very dry and biscuity with underlying Amber-ish molasses and caramel. Pretty good… Hoppiness is light grapefruit grassy nose, strong lime, spice and sharp grass in taste. Liquorices is moderate for a lasting low bitter finish; Fairly dry after taste. Malty, peppery and easy to mouth.
Comments: Taste like a decent Amber Ale with Chipotle as a rather weak add-on. Smoke and chili taste is rather low which make way for easy drinking. Saved by strong spices and hoppiness, this is a decent ale but not an eye-opener, unless they put more Chipotle to spice things up.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy orange copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, toast, bread, chipotle pepper, light smoke, light citrus, floral, grass, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of malt, hop, and chipotle pepper notes; with solid strength. Taste of caramel, toast, biscuit, chipotle pepper, light smoke, herbal, floral, grass, light citrus, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Slight herbal bitterness/pepper spice on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, biscuit, chipotle pepper, light smoke, herbal, floral, grass, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and robustness of malt, pepper, and light hop flavors; with minimal pepper heat and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth and crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice chile beer! All around good balance and robustness of malt, pepper, and light hop flavors; and very smooth to drink with the minimal heat from the peppers. A very enjoyable offering.

Lovely ale - fruity with a slightly peppery finish - light bodied so easy to quaff - beautiful hops on a less malty but balanced spine - no chilli hit but so what... Just slides down soooo well.

Bottle. Smoky burnt nose, sweet smoky taste, light chili burn, light toffee, thin. Tasted better as it warmed.
