2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: JAN 17, 2015 Aroma: big chocolate, dark roast coffee, mild alcohol
Appearance: opaque black, with fluffy tan head
Taste: mild sweetness, bitterness that builds to a sharp, lingering finish
Palate: light-medium body, not much carbonation, bitter finish
Chocolate up front is a bit muted compared to the huge bitter finish. Somewhat disappointed based on expectations.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Had to get used to it in the beginning, but after a couple of sips, this one got me in quite a good way. Pours dark black with a brownish head that lasts long. Bit like a coffee if you ask me. Aroma is dark sweet with clear cocoa notes and some dark fruits. Some dark roasts as well. Beautiful sugars, great coffee. Really nice. Taste is heavy bitter with a clear note of the chocolate. Sweetness is overwhelmed by the bitterness. However, you still feel the chocolate, burnt caramels, coffee, the dark fruits and the roasty notes. Something spicy as well. Bit of a warmishness in the boozy, long finish, that is mainly roasty and bitter. Yet the ’chocolateness’ remains pretty strong. It is pretty good though. Nicely full bodied, bit of a creamy, thick texture that fits with the whole of this brew. Great. Nice brew in general. Balanced more towards the bitter side, yet the creamy and sweetish kick in it gives it something smooth that makes it a lot more softer. Really interesting and definitely worth another try.

BOTTLE. Poured black with a fluffy tan head. Drinking chocolate powder on the nose more so than "a chocolate bar". Creamy texture with a Chocolate malt hit up front , slight dark chocolate bitterness at the back end. Really good beer.

Quite right amount of flavor and aroma of chocolate in beer. But there are some watery taste too unfortunately. Lovely bitterness in the aftertaste that fills the mouth forever. Wonderful beer to enjoy. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from mane liquor. Pours dark muddy brown with firmly packed tan head. Cherry choc on the nose, carbed a bit too high imo, fry’s turkish delight aboounds - though not as much as it’s big brother double choc. Espresso bitterness lingers nicely

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Opaque, nearly black pour with a creamy brown head. Aroma is soft, creamy chocolate. Flavour is mostly chocolate, some malty notes underneath, nicely balanced between sweet and bitter. A bit of a metallic note at the end, keeps it from being outstanding, but mostly a very nice chocolate stout.

ENG: 650ml bottle from Liquor Mart Winnipeg, poured into the glass. Color is very dark brown, almost black with brown head (the head doesn’t last too long, but there was some nice lacing). Roasty aroma of chocolate and vanilla, and something like a sweet dessert cream and caramel. Overall the aroma is very sweet and deep - amazing. There’s huge presence of dark chocolate (like ice cream) in taste, but also spices and a very nice, mild bitterness in aftertaste. Gives the feeling of stickiness and sweetness but it’s not really sweet (that’s the chocolate which "fools" your brain), well actually it’s bitter, but nice and mild. Low carbonation, great drinkability. Amazing chocolate beer, definitely a returner! ~~~/////~~~ PL: Butelka 650ml kupiona w Liquor Mart Winnipeg, przelana do szkła.
