Bottle pour. Ebony color. Tan head. Subtle chocolate aroma. Slight bitter finish. This beer is more stout than chocolate. If you are looking for a sweeter chocolate stout, this is not your beer. But, very good nontheless.

(Rogue Chocolate Stout) Bottle 650 ml at home, poured into a snifter. ABV 6.5 on the importer’s sticker. Totally black colour on the body, very thick as I pour it. Small brown head, maybe half a finger in size, no more than that. Average retention, minimal lacing left behind along with a foam island on the surface. Aroma is full of chocolate, very lactic, oats, light mocha. Very appealing and inviting. Dessert in a glass. Lots of chocolate and all kinds of it. Milky chocolate, dark bitter chocolate, chocolate fudge. All the sweetness balances out on the finish with light roasted malts and a nice, mild bitterness that brings again in mind chocolate. Fantastic! Medium thick body, notable carbonation. Sticky palate. Truly great beer!

Pitch black, with a large head. Aroma of a stout with some sweet accents. Weak taste, quite bitter. Full body, medium carbonation. Not very special.

Aroma of slightly charred, roasted malts. The chocolatey tones also come through as the beer comes up to temperature. Flavour is roasty and has some light coffee too. Pleasantly chocolatey in the finish and aftertaste.

Sampled @ Gents Bierfestival 2014. 650 ml. bottle. Spare mocha frothy head. Lightly cloudy blackish dark brown. Smell is creamy eastern European chocolate, sugar sugar, vanilla, mocha,..; Taste is sweet, cookies, sweet, sugar, above all creamy eastern European chocolate, chocolate sauce, mocha, vanilla,.. Creamy lighter body. Very nice chocolate beer not top because it still doesn’t accomplish tasting like high quality Belgian chocolate (not sure if any beer has managed doing that) but very enjoyable all the same of course.

Aroma: Dark chocolate with great dose of vanilla. The roasted malts takes only small part in overall smell. First impression - very good. Taste: Dark chocolate with very balanced bitterness on the foreground, but a couple second later vanilla joins them and it taste like classy pralines. You can feel a little bit of orange peel and bananas. There is also something like toffee candys. I think that classic chocolate muffin will be the best choice for that beer. To sum up, very good beer, and if you like chocolate stouts it have to take part on your shopping list. Price: [Warsaw, Poland] 34 PLN = 8 Euros

Butelka 650ml. Tutaj mamy do czynienia z typowa cierpkością podobna do popielniczki i gorzkiej czekolady.

Bomber poured into beer mug. It taste of dark chocolate. It starts with a sweet roasted flavor then fades into bitterness with a lingering taste similar to coffee. I would really love to try this on a nitro tap. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
