i was very intrigued about this beer and it didnt disappoint. This was my first chocolate stout and I was overwhelmed by the amount of dark chocolate flavour flowing through the beer. As it got warmer the chocolate aroma began to become more and more evident. Was incredible. Very smooth taste not too bitter or hoppy at all. Definitely leave out of the fridge for 15 mins prior to drinking to enjoy the dark chocolate aroma. Must have very impressed!!!

Deuce. Pours a dark near black with tan head. Smells chocolatey and sweet. Taste of bitter dark chocolate and roasted malt with a bitter hops presence in the aftertaste. Good stuff.

Had this on draft at bait shop in Des Moines. Crazy mocha and cocoa flavor. Like a pile of white chocolate. The most chocolaty beer I've ever had

650ml bottle. Pours an opaque black, with a medium tan head, which lasts reasonably well but does not leave much lacing. Bitter roasted malt and bittersweet cocoa notes mix with sweeter milk chocolate and very light citrus hops in the aroma. Mild herbal and lemon hops up front lead into a bitter cocoa kick, which smoothes out into full-bodied milk chocolate. Roasty malt notes come into the mid-palate, with cocoa and lemon hops in the finish. There is dry, bitter cocoa aftertaste. This is much more bitter than other chocolate stouts I have tried, which have tended towards the smooth and sweet end of the spectrum. It’s an interesting contrast to those, and a novel take on the style, not to mention a very fine beer.

Pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma is chocolate, chocolate, chocolate. Taste is dark chocolate up front, heavy malts in the mid palate and a little old leather for the finish. Awesome.

Bottle. Pitch black, tan head, great lacing like a root beer float. Roasty nose, not really coffee but there is something like orange chocolate. Might be a turn off if you are a stout traditionalist. Flavor is milk chocolate and bitter roast, touch of vanilla. Great value.

Pours black with medium brown head and leaves a couple of lines of lacing. The aroma is very nice chocolate. The taste is chocolate with a slight bitterness that balances the sweet chocolate nicely. It got a full body and creamy texture.

Had on tap at the hay merchant. One of my favorites. Actually it was the double chocolate stout. Very rich chocolately flavor with a hint of espresso. It even smells like chocolate. Very similar to drinking a cold (hot) chocolate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A chocolate stout that delivers. Dark chocolate aroma backed up by smooth make backbone. Chocolate still present in the flavor compliments the nutty malt well with a balanced bitterness. Would have had more but there were other taps on offer.

Keg @ Our Black Heart 2014/4/9 Really really good Chocolate Stout. Chocolate here there everywhere but also well balanced, good ABV and a great body for the style. So many of the same style are too strong, viscous & sweet but this is spot on.
