Fantastic. Had some on tap at Rattle n Hum. Pours a pitch black with beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. Flavor is intense, various coffee notes such as expresso and mocha, and a nice bitter chocolate backbone. Creamy and filling with a smooth finish. I highly recommend.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This beer rocks. The aroma is heavily malty with huge imported milk chocolate notes. Also, sweet cinnamon notes with alcohol. Pitch Black. Black Hole Black. I have looked into the abyss... All the light in the room was sucked right into the glass. A large, tan, rocky head. Completely lasting with excellent lacing. The flavor surprised me. I detected no hops in the nose (give a brother a break, I’m just now getting over an upper respiratory viral infection), but BANG, there they were in the flavor. Moderately malty and chocolatey up front. Moderately bitter and very lightly sweet and sour on the backside... mostly sour. Chinese food anyone? Full-bodied with mild carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. A lengthy, very dry, crisp finish. Another small burst of milk chocolate on the tail end of the finish. A little too heavily hopped for my taste regarding the style. At 69 IBUs, this is definitely a HopHeads chocolate stout. Very good beer. I can see why it’s a hit.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Literally black, big creamy - very stable - yellowish-brownish head; solid aromas of chocolate and/or cacao, accompanied by caramel, toasted malt and a delicate tinge of hops; relatively dry bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied, quite soft; chocolatey finish with (only) traces of toasted malt and some hops. A very good beer, that’s understood, but a bit too chocolatey nevertheless......
