COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ebony in color with a rich creamy head. The mellow flavor of oats, chocolate malts, and real chocolate are balanced perfectly with the right amount of hops for a bittersweet finish. Chocolate Stout is brewed with 10 ingredients: Northwest Harrington and Klages, Crystal 135-165 and Beeston Chocolate Malts, Cascade Hops, Rolled Oats and Roasted Barley, Natural Chocolate Flavor, Free Range Coastal Waters and PacMan Yeast.

Pours black with brown head. Smells just like Hershey’s powdered coco. Medium bodied unsweetened chocolate flavor ending with nice bitter hops. Avery nice stout. Great with a piece of chocholate cake!!

Nice jet black body, good mousse-like head. Great aroma of coffee, chocolate, roasted barley, asphalt on a hot day. Flavour is mocha-like with a hoppy finish. Great layering, super tasty, but I wish the mouthfeel was just a little less watery. That’s about my only nitpick, but otherwise it’s an amazing brew.

Great beer. From 22oz bottle to shaker. Smells malty, slight chocolate but strong vanilla. Pours an almost black color, similar to Guinness with a thick tan head. Taste is sweet, bits of caramel malt with chocolate and a punch of vanilla.

0,65l bottle. Pours brown/black color, beige medium head. Smell of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt. Taste of chocolate, coffee, not that sweet as expected.

Jet black pour with a creamy tan head. Lots and lots of milk chocolate and vanilla, roasted malt, biscuit, floral hoppy bitter finish. Soft to medium carbonation and full bodied. Very moreish and very delicious.

Faint nose of malt and chocolate. Pitch black, fairly loose head, vanishing rather quickly. Great malty chocolate taste, simple palate. Not bad a brew.

In spite of the chocolate, I wouldn’t style it as a sweet stout. Lovely aroma of cherry bonbons. Black as sin, the flavour is a perfect balance between sweet, and bitter, nice sour and definitely dry. That’s the only thing I can add, really, to over two thousand ratings. It’s a dry stout, and a pretty damn perfect one.

Portion of a 22 oz bottle into a regular glass. A: Pours a dark burgundy color with good opacity. The head is a two finger mocha shade. Good lacing is left down the glass. S: There’s a decent chocolate character backed by some roasted malts and citrusy hops. The chocolate is sweet, though a touch off putting. Far from bad, though. T: Chocolate gives way to a roasted barley finish, laced with some bitter hops. It strikes a better balance than the double version. All in all, the flavor profile is simple, but not cloying. M: It’s dry and light...at first. This initial sensation cleanses the chocolate sweetness well, however it doesn’t fully clean it up. Therefore, it strikes me as unfocused, as it’s caught between ’dessert beer’ or ’drinkable dry stout’. Drinkable, though. O: This would make a rock-solid everyday stout if it were A) in 6 packs and B) less expensive. It’s still a decent offering, and better than the double.

Deep brown color with tan brown lacing. Cocoa aroma. Nice and rich, dessert please. Depending on setting, give me this beer year round.

A - Black color with ruby highlights. 2 fingers of billowy mocha head that makes craters as it slowly sinks. Awesome looking beer. S - Dense chocolate jumps right out, rich malt, dairy sweetness T - Dark cocoa up front almost has a grassy bitterness to it. Roasted malts kick in an become more pronounced as it warms. The bitterness rides through and builds at the finish. M - Full bodied, mild to medium carbonation makes it silky and coats the palate evenly. Well done stout here. The nose boasts sweet dairy chocolate while the flavor gives you more of a dry roasted cocoa flavor. Excellent carbonation and feel. Serving type: bottle 11-20-2011

Deuce. Pours a dark near black with tan head. Smells chocolatey and sweet. Taste of bitter dark chocolate and roasted malt with a bitter hops presence in the aftertaste. Good stuff.
