jah noth (940), Rochester, New York, USA Jun 18, 2004 Pours a lightly orange golden hue. Fluffy head that dissipates quickly. When cold, the hops are nicely present - mildly fruity. As it warms the bready malts come forward. This is a delightfully refreshing, soft ale, and well worth the try. Go Rogue! jeffin7 (609), Silver Spring, Maryland, USA Jul 12, 2004 Mild aroma slightly hoppy. Flavor is of hops and a raisiny malt backing which I found interesting, and quite liked. ClarkVV (3547), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Jul 9, 2004 22 oz bottle thanks to Jeff (radiomgb). Pours a bottle conditioned (lots of sediment) hazy deep golden/yellow with a foamy white head flecked with yellow. Smells grassy, herbal and sweet, hints of lightly bitter yellow fruit (starfruit comes to mind, kiwi, touch of lemon). Hops are aromatic but not in your face. Flavor is malty sweet (angel food cake, cookie dough) with some late bitterness from the hops, though not too much of it. Wonderful flavor and the body is medium with a smooth almost creamy palate. Fairly crisp finish, but I would ask for a bit more hoppy bitterness, as it does stay quite malty and sweet. Schroppfy (1733), Ohio, USA Mar 26, 2004 Toasty, bready and flowery aroma - very grainy. Nice color, typical APA golden, lasting thin head. Has a slightly strange and out of place late bitterness - awkward and doesn't flow - an essentially high quality germanic lager with the ale yeast is a strange animal indeed. Good session, and I like it a lot. Thanks Jeff. BückDich (4558), Boise, Idaho, USA Jan 21, 2004 Pellucid bronze color with light head and a little lacing. The aroma is slightly hoppy with a light toasty malt background. Flavor sways a little more toward the hoppy side but is still quite drinkable. The finish is moderately bitter & tangy. Decent entry into the 15th anniversary.
