After the death of his wife, Henry Jackson Smart was left to raise his 6 young children alone. His courage, love, selflessness and dedication inspired his daughter, Sonora Smart Dodd, to organize the first Fatherís Day on June 19th, 1910. In 1924 President Calvin Coolidge proclaimed the third Sunday in June as Fatherís Day. President Nixon, in 1972, established it as a permanent day of national observance.

Dadís Little Helper Black IPA is deep mahogany in color with roasted malt and hop aromas and dense creamy head. It enters the palate with intense hop flavor and coats the tongue with a rich maltiness from the Rogue Farms Risk Malt.

Pours dark brown with a 2 finger, fluffy tan head that ahs great retention. Aroma is big on nuts, roast, some chocolate, pine and planty hops. Flavor is more roast and nuts, burnt chocolate chip cookies, dark caramel, earth, lots of pine, juniper like notes, planty finish. Medium body, with a creamy entry, and increasingly dry and harshly bitter until the end, light, but sharp carbonation. Not bad, the bitterness really sticks with you on the back of your palate, similar to other hoppy beers from Rogue. That definitely takes it down a couple of ticks.

Bottle. Cola brown pour, reddish hue, with a large light tan head. Aroma is faint and roasty. Flavor of roasted malt, light dry cocoa, pine, and sharply metallic bitterness. I m not sure why I bought this, the beer is underwhelming, but drinkable.

Dark pour, with creamy head. Aroma is like an explosion, expecting the usual IPA aroma but greeted with roasted malts, chocolate and a tiny bit of coffee. First sip mainly is the malts, big chocolate flavor, maybe a little caramel. Finishes with a slight hoppiness, dry and bitter. Very delicious, very unexpected! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a deep mahogany. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, piney hops. Medium bodied, slick mouth feel. Roasty malt flavours turn into a long bitterness. Not bad.

On tap at the Euston tap (Mar í12) and served into a UK half pint glass. Mid black akin to ícolaí in colouration with a thin off-white head that soon thinned to a small puddle in the middle of the glass. Not a big nose to this beer, faint hop smells and a little roasted malt and caramel, a little underwhelming in this aspect! Flavours outweighed the smell and I got pine, more hop than on the nose, roasted malt, a little sugar, raisen and a touch of cocoa. Medium in body with a little soft carbonation about right for the style. Overall an OK beer, entirely drinkable, but not setting ímyí beer world alight!!!

huge roasted notes with only moderate bitterness, but balanced and nice. More stout like than IPA.

22 ounce bottle. Pours an unclear brown with a two inch tan head. Taste is of hops, pine, citrus, grapefruit, caramel, chocolate and malt. Similar aroma. Has a decent, slightly oily body. The finish is rather dry and a bit bitter. Easy to drink and rather enjoyable. Not bad.
