3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber from Discount in Waukesha. Pours black with some reddish tint. Some head and some retention. Aroma is lightly chocolate, vinious and some caramel. Taste is thickly choco-caramel with a hint of grape. Finishes bittersweet malty chocolate. No real hop presence that I can discern. More of a weak dunkel? The flavors are not unpleasant and it is quite drinkable, just not a very representative black ipa.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark mahogany with big, foamy, tan head / Nose of roast barley and brown sugar / Light to medium body, somewhat chewy, hops partly masked by the roast, with good balance and dry, lightly bitter, finish / Flavors of dark roast coffee, unsweetened chocolate, brown sugar, grass, and dry hops / A delicous ale, best not compared to an IPA but on its own or as a porter.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours dark with a tan head, aroma is sharp and bitter. Flavor is intense and bitter, what youíd expect from rouge IPA, but then the sweetness from the malts mellow out the flavor for good smooth finish

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a very dark brown, with ample tan head. Aroma is heavily of hops, with a hint of sweetness. With the taste, the hops jump out first, but the smoothness of the malt kicks in. Not a bad beer, overall.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle. Pours a deep dark brown color with ruby highlights and a one finger frothy light tan head that lingers. Malty aroma with spicy and zesty hops, and light roasted coffee. Flavor has a underlying sweetness of burnt caramel that is covered by earthy, resinous pine and citrus hops. The bitterness of hops is met with the dry roast flavor from the charred malts. Lingering dry bitter finnish. Medium bodied with ample prickly carbonation.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle. Black pour, light tan foam. Large yeast cake on the bottom of the bottle. Aroma of burnt grains and wooded hops. Tastes of a West Coast IPA. Loads of hops, earthy wood bitterness. Finishes with a slight bitter roast of the malt and more hops. Besides the dark color, it is just as a hearty IPA should be.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Nearly black pour with a moderately thick tan head. Malty, sweet, with a bit of hops for aroma. Flavor is drier than Iíd expect, but malt sweet is big before any bitterness. Drinkable and interesting.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber pours deep ruby red amber with short lived mocha head. The modest aroma offers up earthiness, dark roasted malts and pine hops as well as a hint or two of grapefruit like hoppiness. The taste is similar with a pleasing mix of dark roasted malts that get near a burnt sensation, pine hoppiness and grapefruit. The hops grow into fairly bold levels of bitterness midway and into the finish. Yes, I like it.
