"This ainít your Dadís malt liquor" - Brewmaster John Maier After the death of his wife, Henry Jackson Smart was left to raise 6 young children alone. Bottle. Pours sparkling yellow with a small frothy white head, mostly diminishing, fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, straw, meal), average hops (herbs, grass), average (sweat, horse blanket) with notes of light alcohol, butter, honey, and cooked corn. Average duration, moderate sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness, salty. Light bodied, slick texture, soft carbonation and metallic finish.

Thin frothy white head of mixed size bubbles. Sweet aroma with brown sugar, cinnamon covered apples and corn. Medium gold in color. Sweet and fizzy in the mouth. Fruity flavor with a noticable alcohol presence. More spices and pears. Finish is warming and a little tart and dry. I am actually enjoying this brew quite a bit. Was not expecting the frutiy esters and flavors. Decent.

Pours a clear gold with yellow highlights and a thin, white head (no lace). The aroma is very yeasty with decent amount of malts, too. The flavor is medium in balance - with a firm, golden malt presence. It also has other interesting artifacts (which happen to be hallmarks of this style): sugar, banana, hints of pear, and a touch of alcohol. The mouthfeel is quite full-bodied, but nicely carbonated to provide a pleasant texture. Overall, very nice - now I know what a premium "malt liquor" tastes like, and it is substantially more palatable than Old English 800 or its ilk.

22 oz bottle picked up while vacationing in Oregon. Best malt liquor I have had, but thatís not saying much. Sweet malty aromas and similar flavors. Had everything except the paper bag.

Thanks to fordest for sharing this one. For a malt liquor this wasnít bad. I think with all of the Impy stouts I have been having these not so desirable beers taste pretty darn good. Very drinkable and sort of refreshing. Sort of.

UPDATED: JUN 30, 2009 Bomber. Yellow/gold, not entirely clear, nice white head. Smells sweet. I love the creamy texture with low carbonation. Yeah, it tastes corny and sweet, but itís a nice, true taste., not watery or phony. I drank it chilled. Maybe if it warms it becomes musty or alcoholic. As is, itís dangerous if it really is 7%. I thought this was really tasty. Re-rate 6/09: I still say itís good.

Bottle: Poured a golden color beer with a nice white foamy head with good carbonation but no lacing. Aroma of sweet malt is not the most interesting but surely not as shocking as most malt liquor I have tried. Taste is also dominated by some sweet pils-type malt with no noticeable presence or corn or any other adjunct. I thought alcohol was very well hidden overall. While this is not something I would seek out on a regular basis it was definitely better then expected.

Very Interesting, I would have sworn there were some fruits included in the fermentation like rasberries or grapes, Golden Color, some fruit odors typical of a Belgian, with Flavors of Bananas and grapes, very sweet but with a nice clean finish. Can’t say its my type but at least it was different.

Pours a golden tone with a decent head. The aroma is pretty corny with a touch of noticeable alcohol and light malt. Sweetness of a malt liquor with quite a bit of adjuncty sweetness. Perhaps a bit metallic? Cleaner than most without any chemicals, sulfur, or other bad tasting impurities. Alcohol warms a bit.

Bottle, got it at World Market for my Dad. Pours a light yellow haze with a small white head. Aroma is sweet malt with a little bit of a hop smell. Flavor is sweet bite of earthy hops and malt, a lot of malt. Very good and drinkable, I would buy this if it came in a six pack.
