waolsen (1220), Littleton, Colorado, USA Jun 23, 2007 bottle. Upset my stomach. strong malts. dries your mouth quickly. Its been a long time since I’ve had malt liquor but I don’t remember it being this hard to drink. hopson (591), Williamsville, New York, USA Jun 21, 2007 draft- terrible. so weird that this comes from rogue, one of the premier craft breweries in this country. Tastes very similiar to mass produced, adjunt heavy canadian beers. Real abrasive alcohol presense. Please don’t drink or buy. MrBendo (1039), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Jun 20, 2007 Updated: Dec 29, 2007On tap at the Drafting Room. Kind of harsh taste; warm and sweet. Corn overpowers the malts. Grassy hops with alcoholic finish. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA Jun 20, 2007 This brew was even and not overpowering at all and I found it to be very easy drink. I guess it is just a nicer version of malt liquor. I enjoy my taste buds to be pushed as close to a state of shock as possible (or at the least intrigued a bit), so I probably wouldn’t go for it again, but it was worth trying just to check out another Rogue production. GregClow (2493), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 19, 2007 Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, blankboy, tupalev & jerc - courtesy of HogTownHarry. Light golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is sweet and grainy. Medium body. Flavour is simple and well-balanced, with a lot of grain and corn. Better than your average malt liquor, but certainly nothing I’ll need to drink again. hopdog (5535), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 19, 2007 On tap at TDR in Springhouse, PA. Poured a medium golden color with a small sized white head. Aromas of grain and corn. Tastes of grain and corn with a honey sweetness. pinkzambia (986), Boise, Idaho, USA Jun 18, 2007 Bottle: The day after Father’s Day, I decided to partake of a little help. Clear gold with a small white fizzy head along with spotty lacing is first noticed. The aroma is sweet grain, corn and most things I hate about cheap beer. The taste is all malt with a crisp, somewhat sweet finish. The aftertaste is not something I want to continue, so I am glad I shared most of it with my lovely wife and will try something else immediately, if not sooner. BeerBelcher (930), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jun 14, 2007 While this beer is not exactly my cup of tea in terms of beer style, I did feel it to be better than its average score would indicate. While it looks like a better-than-average lager in appearance (I thought Leinie’s Northwoods) this beer is a bit maibock-ish in its character with a lot of complicated maltiness that is not overly sweet. And I found it to be somewhat balanced with a detectable hop presence. Not bad, but I’m not crossing anything on my list of things to do in life as a result of drinking this beer.
