mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 26, 2006 Bottle. Gold with a small foamy white head. Smells slightly of corn sweetness and minerals. The flavour is sweet, within reason, accompanied by vegetal notes, caramel, and watery grain. Thin body. It’s actually not terrible. (Rating #800) Glouglouburp (2778), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Dec 19, 2006 Almost clear yellow body with a small white head. Smell of honeyed cereals. Taste is buttery plain cookies, sweet, some corn. Very cold it wasn’t very tasty so was almost drinkable but a few minutes after the pour it was developing a terrible movie popcorn taste. Like my cousin Louis for my family, this beer is the shame of the Rogue family. BeerandBlues2 (3201), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Dec 18, 2006 Bottle. Pours sparkling yellow with a small frothy white head, mostly diminishing, fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, straw, meal), average hops (herbs, grass), average (sweat, horse blanket) with notes of light alcohol, butter, honey, and cooked corn. Average duration, moderate sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness, salty. Light bodied, slick texture, soft carbonation and metallic finish. Quevillon (1518), Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, Canada Dec 17, 2006 Bu au YeHa! 06. Jaune typique, aps de collet. Arome de malte sucré point. Goût de malte très faiblement épicé. spector (906), Lancaster, Ohio, USA Nov 27, 2006 Aroma is of malt and bananas.Pours golden with very little head.Flavors of malt and some sweet fruit.Mouthfeel is medium with a sweet finish. Not bad. mdawson (1), USA does not count Nov 26, 2006 I agree with the general consensus here. The beverage is fine...for malt liquor. I thought the beer looked great. The copper color was nice. The aroma was definitely below average and without alot of character. Taste was decent. Sweet and malty with corn and fruit and a tad of hops. It finished with a little more alcohol taste than I expected but I’m not an expert on this type of beer. For more details, I reviewed this beer on my blog at http://mybaryourbar.com/2006/11/25/rogue-dads-little-helper/ michael-pollack (2603), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 26, 2006 22oz. Bottle: Smells of corn, banana, and cumin. Poured a dark-golden/urine color. Big creamy, frothy white head lasted throughout. Clear. Lightly sparkling. Flavor is kind of sweet. Tastes of corn, malts, and a little sweet fruit, with some hops in the finish. Tastes like a high quality malt liquor. Medium body. Oily. Soft carbonation. Short sweet finish. Overall, a malt liquor I could at least drink, unlike many others. Warming on a cool winter day.
