Enjoyable drink, and I definitely felt the alcohol. City Bev in Winston was selling this stuff reduced, by the case. Don’t know why they had so much. Fun beer, though. tennisjoel (953), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 5, 2006 This is probably the first malt liqour I’ve actually rated. I used to drink some Mickey’s malt liqour back in college, but that was probably the only other malt liqour I’ve drank before. I shoulda had a paper bag, some pork rinds, maybe rap music, but I just decided to rate it straight up, boyz. Pours a golden lager gold color, with an average white head. Interesting bubble patterns on my stella artois glass, which came in a belgian glass gift set my wife recently got me for my birthday. Aroma is sweet, pear, honey, corn. Taste is actually decent. Better than expected. I think Rogue does a decent job on this style. I would like to see how this matches up with DFH. Wouldn’t seek this out on a regular basis but that is more due to the style than anything else. For what it is, it was refreshing. nimbleprop (951), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA

Smelled like candy, which I found suspicious. Thick mouth feel, sweet but not very complex. The sugar hides the alcohol, which warms the cheeks later. You can taste the corn in the mix. This ain’t no Colt .45, but it sure is malt liquor. TipsyMcStager (946), Calgary, Alberta, Canada

This is kind of more like a strong ale really. Sweetish and has a lingering alcohol finish. It doesn’t have that gasoline taste that a true bottom feeding malt liquor would have. While it looks like a better-than-average lager in appearance (I thought Leinie’s Northwoods) this beer is a bit maibock-ish in its character with a lot of complicated maltiness that is not overly sweet. And I found it to be somewhat balanced with a detectable hop presence. Not bad, but I’m not crossing anything on my list of things to do in life as a result of drinking this beer. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 7, 2008 Bomber - Pours a darkish amber in color with a small white head that faded quickly with minor glass lacing. Aroma is, to me, what I remember of what a "malt" smells like... corn, small hops sweet malt. Flavor is malty sweet, corn and just a hint of spicy hops... surprising amount of fruitiness (grapes, apples) ... too sweet for me. Finishes syrupy sweet with a hint of bitter. Much better than malts used to be (Colt 45) and I enjoyed it, but this is not (and never has been) really my favorite type of beer. rocbyter (931), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 6, 2009 Apple lager yeast and malt aroma. Hazy golden color with a small white head. Very mild sweet bitterness that fades to a light sour dry finish. Barrios (926), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
