There is light grain and corn in the nose... perhaps black pepper or alcohol. It’s medium bodied and quite smooth. The finish is dry and pretty clean. It’s slightly sweet and boozy tasting. Yeah, it’s malt liquor. It tastes less poisonous than your typical malt liquor. There’s no fusel to be found here. It somehow seems very... Slightly somkey vegital grainyness and a hint of sweet malt. Nice grainy biscuity flavor, with a decent alcohol kick. This is a great malt liquor, maybe not a great beer, but a great malt liquor. hopson (596), Williamsville, New York, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jun 21, 2007 draft- terrible. so weird that this comes from rogue, one of the premier craft breweries in this country. Tastes very similiar to mass produced, adjunt heavy canadian beers. Real abrasive alcohol presense. Please don’t drink or buy. wxman (594), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 2, 2006 Pours a somewhat dark golden with a full white head that diminishes quickly but leaves a little at the surface throughout. Odd metallic bubble gum aroma. Strangely sweet corn and malt taste along with minor notes of maple and caramel which are dominated by that off-tasting sweetness. Finishes with the all-too-expected ethanol flavor. Not BAD like your average 40 OZ, but still has those strange, off characteristics of a malt liquor. I’m beginning to think a tasty, well balanced malt liquor just isn’t possible. emerica56 (587), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 2, 2008 It is not surprising that this is not that great of a beer. The color is golden orange and no head at all. the flavor is very malty and grainey. There is not much hops but overall it is much better than other malt liquors. henry3r (586), Wichita, Kansas, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Sep 6, 2007 The 22 ounce bottle poured a clear golden copper colored beverage with a small fizzy white head that was completely diminishing and left no lacing on the glass. The aromas that were present were all malt-based with notes of caramel, brown sugar and roast nuts. The body was medium-full with soft carbonation and a oily texture. The flavor starts out lightly sweet and stays that way throughout the moderately long finish. Drink4Satan (586), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 23, 2008 Pours a clear gold with a foamy head that fades to a sudsy cap. The nose is of corn, saaz hops, and syrupy sweet malt. The flavour is miserable. It is astringently bitter, tangy, and filled with the flavour of nasty corn and other vegetables. The finish is hot, metallic and short lived. The mouthfeel is syrupy, liberally carbonated and nasty. Beats Colt 45 or Private Stock, but not by much. Metalhead (572), Lake Zurich, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 23, 2006 I like malt liquors. They are what they are. Usually "ok" tasting higher octane to cop a quick cheap buzz. The beer poured a golden color with a short lived monster head. Aroma of sweet grains and bits of cream corn. Tastes pretty much how it smells with a hint of a metallic finish. Goes down easy,ABV is not present. The 1 drawback is price. $4.49 a bomber. For the same $ I could got 2 pints of Zhiguly Grand and a bag of snackies.
