COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue’s proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

Very faint malty aroma. Light/medium body. Hint of sweetness. Mild hop bitterness that lingers. Malty taste with a slightly peppery finish. It pleases the palate. Very smooth and moderately robust. This beer is better after number two. The first one was "meh". The second one was "mmmmmm good".

First of all, the label on this beer is great. Now onto the beer, the head was nice to start out. Aroma was good with a slight hint of fruit to it. Sort of reminded me of Magic Hat 9 in both aroma and taste. The beer finishes well and is a strong beer to boot. This was my first beer from Rogue Brewery based out of Oregon, but it won’t be the last. Go out and find it, drink it, and enjoy it

On tap at Iron Monkey, Jersey City, NJ. Clean lines. Beer pours hazy brown, with a medium head that fades quickly. Aroma is fruity and attack is smooth and full-bodied; nice rounded flavor profile, finish is tart and then clean. Good strong ale.

12 oz bottle pours out a deep golden color and produces a good head. Aromas of malts with some hints of hops. Tastes of nicely balanced roasted malts with a crisp finish of the perle and saaz hops. A good overall brew for times when you want just a refreshing beer. Not a sour nor a coffee stout the basics.

This might be my favorite ale...not a fan of them but this one is good! Malty with a good finish not a bad after taste likeI get from most ales. Bonus: i really dig theogue line of labels!

12oz bottle from The Grapevine
Appearance: Pours clear golden with a big frothy off-white head and lots of lacing
Aroma: Toasted caramel, sweet, grainy and bready
Taste: Toasted caramel, honey, grainy with a light bitter finish
A nice full flavored, light tasting beer. Refreshing and clean. I haven’t had this in many years and was never interested in drinking it again, but either the beer or my taste for good beer has changed.
