bluemooner (230), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Jun 30, 2009 Pours a clear amber color with a thin white head. Smells of sweet malts, toffee, and light hops. Tastes hoppy with sweet malts, fruits, toffee, brown sugar, caramel, and some citrus and pine from the hops. Bitter finish. vtafro (452), , New Jersey, USA Jun 29, 2009 Bottle and on Tap @ Shannon Rose. Dark amber pour with lots to offer. Great flavors and finish. Really enjoy this beer. uvajed (112), Ravenna, Ohio, USA Jun 29, 2009 I like it. I don’t get the "medium body" that others pick up, as it seems kind of thin to me. But it definitely delivers the hops, toasty caramel, and has a nicely balanced sweetness. Not overly sweet, but it works -- and I don’t usually go for sweet beers. Not a fantastic price, but it was nice to try it on tap at the Zephy Pub in kent, Ohio. Listigovers (96), Ontario, Canada Jun 26, 2009 Updated: Sep 10, 2009Good very sessionable beer. Medium bodied, slightly sweet, very easy to drink despite moderately high alcohol content. Overall good beer. Caramel notes. twistedviews (67), California, USA Jun 26, 2009 dead guy ale is alright, alright by the pricing wasn’t really worth the whole deal of it. the taste is alright, and same with the effect. a little overpriced though but it is a microbrew. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Jun 26, 2009 White Crane bitter pours a clear amber color with a light tan head. Malty aromas of toasted caramel and pale malts. Smooth medium body. Pours a very cloudy light amber copper with yellow hightlights. Head is soft white and small. Smells of brown sugar, toffee, and sweet malt. Tastes of burnt sugar, roasted malts, sweet corn, some piney and citrus hops. Aftertaste is slightly fermented friuts. Body is nice and sticky sweet, almost syrupy, and carbonation is very good. Some lacing. broozer81 (63), , New Jersey, USA Jun 22, 2009 Updated: Jul 7, 2009On tap in wildwood nj at Goodnight Irene’s, I had DeadGuy after enjoying one of my favorite beers (Stone Bastard ale), so i was ready for a little let down but that failed to happen. it was a really nice switch to a toasty malt-hop beer..the taste of cookie, toasted caramel malts with resin hops coming through gave a very enjoyable amount of depth and character and perfectly balanced out this beer..I really enjoyed this one after being very hesitant to order it so that was a nice surprise..I’ll be trying this one again very soon, very nice beer...
