Commercial Description:
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue's proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

Draught at WBF. Pours amber in color with a good size white head. Sweet citrusy aroma with a hoppy base. Flavor is a little odd.... I haven’t had a beer like this one. Sweet, hoppy, and peppery. Very different, but good.

Bottle 355ml. Pours cloudy and amber, with an off-white head. Aroma of malt, toffee, and hint of citrus. Taste is malty toffee, crisp, strong bitter hoppy aftertaste and a hint of citrus. Overall a decent beer.

A nice looking copper orange beer with a decent creamy head that leaves lace but dissipates fast. Aroma is a nicely balanced mix of bready and sweet caramel malt and some spicy, earthy hops. The flavor is much the same, but more dominated by bitter hops. A nice little brew, definetly a west-coast approach to the style: just add more hops.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours a clear amber with a medium off-white head and an aroma of spices, citrus and toffee. The taste is is high on caramelly malts, with ripe fruits and strong bitter hops. The finish is also pretty bitter and a bit alcoholic too. A pretty good beer

Pours cloudy orange with a thick tan head. Aroma is sweet caramel and citrus. Smooth feel mostly caramel flavor with apricot and berry. Finishes with bitter roast and has excellent balance.

One of my favorites and the ’dead guy’ makes a great Halloween decor item too!

Pours a cloudy dark medium amber with a frothy light tan head. Aroma is nutty with caramel, some fruit, and a little smoked malt. Flavor is well into the malty side. Flavors of rich caramel, honey, light roasted malt and toffee. Sweet, bitter, and hearty. Palate is just above average. Decent malty brew.

Light copper in the glass, thin white head, lively carbonation. Strong bitter taste, hint of sweetness.
