| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 8, 2009 How many mead drinkers have smelled this familiar aroma. Honey, malt, and fresh bready yeast dominate the nose. Sweet malt, light hop, and nutty barley dominate the flavour. Very nice hazy tupelo honey colour. A little thin on the palate but overall a very smooth, drinkable ale. TaxiDriver (934), Stadland, Germany
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 7, 2009 Bottle. A sweet aroma, some bread, light sour. The white fizzy head has only a short duration, the body is red. The taste is light bitter, very dry in the mouth, the finish is a little bit medical. The body is dry, medium strong and with a normal duration. A nice Ale. jspruit (111), Dublin, Ireland
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 5, 2009 Got this 12oz bottle in Michigan while visiting family and drank it back home in Ireland.
Pours a slightly cloudy, copper gold color-very nice looking. Left about a 1/2 finger white head that didn’t stick around for long.
Sweet, some maltiness, and some light hops notes hit the nose-all very balanced and nothing overpowering.
A good mix of hops, malts, sweet, and bitterness all come together quite nicely here. Tastes like asweet ale with some caramel hints
Goes down relatively smooth and well-rounded with a light-medium body and mild carbonation.
I’d say that this is my first tasting of a Helles bock and I liked this version of the style, but I don’t have alot to compare it to. The ABV is a bit high for me to make it a personal session beer. I think that you can get some Rogue beers here now too so that is nice-seems like they know what they are doing. jimhilt (1671), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 2, 2009 Pours a four-finger creamy head that fades quickly to a ring leaving some lace. Clear amber color. Hoppy nose. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Flavor is sweet/hoppy then a serious hoppy/bitter finish that doesn’t really linger. $1.89 for a 12oz bottle from Tully’s Beer & Wine Wells, Me.
Dead Guy is an alias for White Crane Bitter Ale it isn’t anything like Dead Guy, different ABV, different look & taste:
White Crane pours a four finger cream head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Cloudy brown/amber color. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Malty/hoppy nose. Flavor is an almost sweet caramel, the hops are trying to dominate. $2.30 for a 12oz bottle from Glen Beverage Glen, NH.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 1, 2009 This is a session drinker!
Pours a hazy orange amber with a 2 finger head. Lacing is pretty clingy and thick.
Smell is of sweet barley and hops. Well balanced aroma. Slightly spicy.
Taste is spot on my definition of ALE! Barley and hops are in perfect unison here. Not too much of either, and not too little. Sweet roasted, nutty barley and floral citrusy hops.
Mouthfeel is excellent! Getting the slight tingle from the bitterness and the slight thickness from the extra amounts of grains in here. Carbonation compliments both.
Drinkability is perfect. This is an all niter here!
I’m still relatively new to the craft beer universe, but this and Dogfish’s 60 min IPA are my favorites! These are my go tos when I’m at the bar. Congrats to Rouge for another excellent beer!

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 31, 2009 bottle: pint glass: Great brew! My first Heller Bock and very happy with the choice! Poured a very deep brown, loads of visible carbonation which left almost 2 fingers of head. At first it seemed thin and easy to drink, realized the brew was too cold. After letting it sit, the flavors began to pop out... tons of malts, almost some oatmeal. Undertones of citrus and earth, piny and bitter. Very nice balance going on here... armando629 (964), Budapest, Hungary
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 31, 2009 0,33 l bottle, bought in Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam.
When i opened my bottle it flushed out like a fontain...The beer has a murky amber body with a medium off-white head what diminishes to a small lacing one.. Interesting and unidentifiable aroma. I do not know if i like it or no....It might be some malt and some sourish yeast with some fruits and some caramel. somesomesome. I am embarassed....Is this stuff an ale or a lager one? Or was it made with ale-yeasts on a lower temperature? Freaky beer...The flavor is malty and fruity with a bit of hop and honey. I do not know, i do not know.... Pershing (147), Garland, Texas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 30, 2009 Not sure what all the fuss is about this beer. Decided to shell out the $7 for a bottle. The overwhelming hop bitterness cancels out any malt taste. Faint malt aroma. Light body with a clean finish.
