COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue’s proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

Poured a honey like color with a generous velvety head. Aroma of mostly sweetish malts; caramel. Taste is a superb balance of sweetness and bitter (medium-lite for both). Medium body, Ave carbonation, Long Finish. Wow, I havent had this for awhile, and its tasting very good. Such a great balance between hops and malt. Smooth drinkin yet there is a bunch of taste. Well done again Rogue.

22 oz bottle. Clear light amber with a thick beige head that leaves some lacing. Aroma of bread dough, herbal hops, light lemon and caramel. The flavor is lightly sweet caramel and bready malt with a touch of hop bitterness. Medium body with average carbonation and a smooth clean mouth feel. Solid beer, very drinkable and full flavored.

Bottle from Publix in Spring Hill, FL. Pours hazy brown with a white head. Nose is slight biscuit, caramel, and some citrus hops. Flavor reminds me a bit of an ESB with a yeast presence. Malt, caramel, yeast, and citrus blend to make this accessible, and easy-drinking session beer.

Bottle @ Hotelroom, Denver. Pours golden with a huge white head. Aroma of sweet caramel, toast, brown sugar. Taste is burned caramel, toast, some floral hops. Medium body, soft carbonation, creamy mouthfeel. Completely different from what i expected, very sweet, few hops, still quite enjoyable tho. 270211

Clear copper pour with a thin off-white head. Aroma has a lot of caramel and toasty malts, with an accent of toffee. Smells similar to a marzen. Flavor is very sweet, almost a sickening level of caramel, but with a balance of flowery hops. Finish is clean with a little dryness. Slick, medium body. Pretty good, but a little on the sweet side. I’d probably enjoy it more if I was in an Oktoberfest mood.
