COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue’s proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

Heavy golden pour with a very slight haze. Modest large bubble off white head. Mild toasted malt aroma. Full mouth feel with a slightly sour taste with a strong presence of raisins when swallowing (I hate raisins). I really wanted to like this beer as so many others have raved about it ... perhaps I got an old bottle.

Orange red in color... Aroma is caramel malts, citrus hops... Flavor is citrus hops, caramel malts, belgian yeast, candi sugar...Tastes like a bock, very malty, feel like the hops were much subdued as its been aging for over a year... Solid beer, feel like it would be way different fresh

Pour is hazy orange color with a small off white head. The smell is sweet and lightly hoppy. Light overall mouth feel and a generally fruity taste, of lighter fruit with some apple like notes.

Still trying to wrap my mouth around this one. I had it on tap. Hazy amber color with a light white head. At first taste, it’s a good sweet beer, but then the hops come in and there are some citrus undertones. Surprisingly good.

A little dry, surprisingly refreshing for a pale ale. This is a beer I would have when looking for hops but a decent sipping beer.

Bottle. Amber colour. Thick white head. Fruity, restrained aroma: orange with toasty malt and a bit of wood. Chewy mouthfeel. Apricot in the flavour, with caramel and citrus fruit.

I had it on tap and it seemed flat. No real carbonation to it and the flavor seemed off. It was bland ale with not a lot of flavor.

Pours a beautiful amber honey color with a light white head that leaves nice lacing on the sides of the glass. Light sweetness in the start balanced with some citrus (lemongrass) and a light bitterness. Very drinkable and smooth.
