COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue’s proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

Bottle. Pours amber/brown with slight head that fades. Very malty. I’m not getting a lot of hop aroma or flavour. Different in a good way.

great looking amber to red color with frothy white head. the aroma and taste is fruity esters and malt. there’s a lot of sweetness in this beer- too much for my taste.

On tap, pours hazy Orange with a thin light tan head. Aroma is clove, coffee and some toast. Flavor is rich and malts lots of nutty and toasted malts ending ending with lots of yeast character.

Beautiful honey gold color with a thin, quick-dissipating head. Light citrus and fruit aroma with malt sweetness to back it up. Hop aroma is there but lets the malt shine through. Flavor is sweet, malty and nutty with just enough hops to balance it out. Hops come forward at the end but leave a balanced aftertaste. Easy drinking.

Very excellent beer. This ale is the perfect size and flavor for any red meat event. Pours great and good to the last drop. Try this beer at least once.

Pale amber appearance. Good clarity. Lemony, zesty smell. Strong head that quickly dissipates. Tastes maltier than the aroma suggests. Hints of brown sugar. Not particularly hop-driven taste. Mouth feel is a bit flat.
