Commercial Description:
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue's proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

22oz. Bottle: Aroma of malts, toasting, fall leaves, nuts, and slight caramel. Poured amber/orange in color with a large, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of malts, toasting, nuts, leaves and light caramel. Medium body. Thinish, slightly dry, slightly sticky texture. Average carbonation. Sweet, malty, caramel and nut finish.

Deep golden body with firm whote head, a little sweet on the nose, and a nice hoppy taste with good balance all around.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper with a one figer off-white head that leaves good lacing. Light aroma of sweet malt and a touch of floral spicy hops. Taste is the same as aroma but more prominent. Medium mouthfeel with a mild to moderate amount of bitterness. Good.

Golden amber with rapidly disappearing white head. Not much aroma, just slight malt. Malty, yeasty flavor with background bitterness, good example of the maibock style.

Bottle. Pours and amber oragne cloudy color with a nice but small white head. Smells a little tart, taste like citrus and spice and a smooth malt back.

Draft. All sour malt on this one. Intriguing in some senses but out there in not the best ways. Touch watery and indistinct.
