Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue’s proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

From bottle in beer stein. An amber brew with fleeting head and aroma of fruit bread and a hint of banana. Broad malts dominate the taste with a bit of spice and smokiness on the palate. My first venture into the lighter side of the bock family.

the aroma is malty and herbal with hints of grain, flowers, garden fruits and spicy grasses... the taste is malty and, a little bit, fruity with notes of toffee, apple, pine and spicy herbs... sweet, bitter and dry aftertaste...

Originally rated on 8/14/08. Didnt know this was a bock until i just looked it up. The body looked more like an APA or even a IPA with an orangish-copper colored body, ample carbonation, with a mid sized light tan head. Aroma of spicy hops, flavor was balanced between the hops and malts, a little sweet, with hints of berries. Overall a pretty good beer no matter what style it tries to be

Bottle, 330ml. Pours beautiful clear golden-red, head is very short and beige colored. Scent is of fruits and berries, malt, bread and yeast. Mouth feel is oily with a light body and gentle carbonation. Tastes nicely bitter with some sweetness and light tartness. Flavors are of ripe fruit, malt, hops, caramel, lightly herbal, fruity hops, phenol, light buttery note, yeast, light spice and clove, some tart fruit. Very nice, fresh, not heavy, well balanced with interesting flavor.
