COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue’s proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

Reviewed from notes (2007). A: Copper-brown body with a small cream colored head. S: Strong malty aroma with a healthy amount of dark fruit and hints of hop bitterness. T: A solid maibock... strong malts, hints of fruit and a hoppy overtone. M: A smooth, medium bodied beer.. not too much carbonation O: A staple for me when I get a healthy sized hamburger at one of my favorite spots.

Very hazy reddish pour with a clingy white head. Slight citrus scent. Nice balanced mouth. Just a touch of that grapefruit taste you get with Pale Ales. Rather enjoying this. Something sweet in the middle that’s rather nice. Like this one a lot. I remember having it years ago and liking it but I actually thought that may have been more because of the cool bottle and logo, I now know it was also the beer.

From bottle. Pours amber with thin white head. Ok aroma, slight caramel, bit yeast. Taste is much bigger, lots of toffee, caramel, slight raisin flavor. A very tasty beer. More Like an amber ale
