yinzerbeernut (41), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 11, 2009 Poured an off white head that was died quickly with decent lace on the pint glass. Decent light copper color with a little carbonation in the slightly hazy ale. There is a light toasted bread malt aroma that is challenged by a touch of grapefruit. You should find a light medium body and a crisp balanced mouthfeel with a slightly acidic short to average finish. RealPoser (23), Tampa, Florida, USA Oct 10, 2009 Draft 10.10.09
washed-out copper pour. minimal to non-existent head. sweet nose, with bready tendrils. subtle roastiness with bitter finish. sharp carbonation. interesting interpretation of style. Nena (121), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 9, 2009 Updated: Oct 17, 2009Poured orange with some visible carbonation and a smallish white head. The aroma is complex: hops, bready malt, spicy yeast, and fruit. The fruit reminds me if litchi and apricot. The flavor is biscuity malt, apricot sweetness, and it finishes with a generously hoppy bitterness. larryLSB (140), La Selva Beach, California, USA Oct 9, 2009 Poured from 12oz bottle. Shiny copper in color with nice medium off white head. Sweet malty nose with a bit of spice. Flavor was sweet, bready, malty, fruity (apricots) and hops. Overall not too bad. bobman006 (38), New Jersey, USA Oct 5, 2009 Bottle. Pours an amber color with attractive loose head. Aroma is malty with a little spice. Flavors of biscuit, caramel, leather, spice, and some cherry. Nice finish. Good but nothing exciting. yalnikim (776), Wellington, New Zealand Sep 30, 2009 30/09/2009. 750ml bottle. Wow... it’s a highly hopped toasted oat porridge of a beer! Maibock? Ale? Does not compute. Nice simple beer, that’s smoother than a baby’s bottom and very drinkable. If you’re into melanoidin maltiness (like all those East Coast) then you just might fall in love with this Dead Guy. This one doesn’t quite grab me though. iabeerguy (158), Iowa, USA Sep 28, 2009 I’ve really liked all the Rogue beers I’ve had so far. Moving their way up my list of favorite breweries. Had this at a little tasting I had and really enjoyed it. Copper pour with aroma of hops. Goes down really smooth. A very good beer goldfish19 (33), Long Island, New York, USA Sep 27, 2009 Updated: Oct 7, 2009~ Purchased this 12 oz bottle from Big Z Beverage in Huntington, NY. Found this 50% off, so at $1.25 I just had to give it a try. This is a nifty looking bottle with Japanese writing all over, and the Rogue name centered below. Appearance is light brown with a moderately good head. It has a light hoppy aroma, and a sweet pleasing taste. This beer is all right I guess - it’s just nothing that spectacular. ~
