Commercial Description:
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue's proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

Draught @ Maltainen Monni, Helsinki. Murky amber color, white head. Resiny hop aroma. Sweet, malty flavor with a great bitter background, some notes of plums. High carbonation, medium body. Pretty good!

Bottled from Jusco supermarket, Shenzhen, China. Clear orange coloured, lasting head. Nose of barley, some alcohol. Caramel malts in flavour, some bitterness. Not very special.

had this many times before but haven’t rated yet. Pours nice golden applejuice color... fizzy dissipating head. Aroma is malty honey sweetness with some floral hops in the background. Nice honey flavor with hoppy balance.. smooth drinking, well balanced beer.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear amber with a full fluffy head. Slightly smoky nose with lots of citrus hop aroma. Very bocklike up front with smoke and caramel malts but finish with a very piney bitter kick. Its actually very tasty and well crafted as a session beer. It reminds me a bit of Bellhaven Scottish Ale with its use of smoke malts.

Bottle poured to a beautifully cloudy amber-orange with very little head. A faint scent, mostly floral. The flavor is wonderfully complex. There are hints of citrus, floral hops, light malts and sweet - but not too sweet. This tastes like Spring to me. One of the better bocks I’ve had in a long time. I will be a returning customer.

Bottle. Pours a amber/caramel color with a large, creamy, light tan head that slowly fades. Taste is mostly of malt and hops. Is well balanced, but some alcohol can be tasted in the dry finish. Has a nice hoppy and malt aroma. Very easy to drink and quite enjoyable. Well worth having again.

Aroma is not real strong, but there is some malt and spices there. Color of butterscotch. Decent head that settles slowly, never completely dissipates, and laces the glass all the way down. Pretty cool bottle. Flavor is alot like an IPA with more malt and more of a smoky flavor similar to a Porter. Good flavor...Pretty easy on the palate, leaves an aftertaste but more on the tongue than in the throat. It’s a good beer...just enough balls but drinkable enough to be an everyday beer...I like the smoky flavor added to what I am calling a Pale Ale...it’s a good mix.
