From the bottle. Pours a golden-amber with offwhite head, nice color. Great balance of hops and malts in the nose and flavor. Packs a nice punch but finishes smooth. Not the first time I’ve had this beer and hopefully not the last.

Purchased on tap at Winslow’s Tavern, Greenville, NC
Was expecting/hoping for more; wasn’t terrible but I wanted more taste out of it.

Nice mix of flavors. Some sweetness and roasted malts up front, a little hoppy bite and a refreshing aftertaste.

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2011 Apricot, nectarine, caramel, citrus, fruity and floral hoppy aroma. Dark copper color, hazy. Small head that disapates quickly. Taste is malty, apricot, nectarine, citrus, honey, caramel. Tiny hint of roast. Hops bitterness balances out sweetness well. Floral, tangy hops lingers on the tongue. Medium body+, nicely coats tongue. Not crisp like a lager. Overall a very good beer. Excellent malt flavors go nicely with fruitiness.
On a side note...... while I enjoy this beer, the fruitiness and fact that it is technically (and tastes like) an ale make me wonder why this is labeled a Maibock. Who cares, its good..... but I wonder.

12oz bottle from LCBO. Pours amber with a decent sized off-white head, aroma of sweet malt, floral hops, alcohol, pleasantly mixed. Flavor is smooth and refreshing, slight hoppy presence, great malt character, some sweetness, citrus, a caramel notes, good body, very decent.

$5.50 / 220z bomb- Is Dead Guy sort of Rogue’s flagship beer? It seems like this beer is often the introduction for many who have discovered Rogue. Solid beer, but definitely little funky with the aroma and taste. I’m picking up bread, nuts, and some citrus on the tongue. It is true, Rogue has much better offerings, but Dead Guy is a very good Bock. When it is all said and done, I crave this beer about once a year.

Pours a dark copper with a medium off-white head. Head dissipated quickly with minor lacing. Aroma consists of caramel, malts and a hint of nuts. Taste is sweet with a bitter finish. Medium body with a somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Nice beer but I have had better from Rogue.

This one was in the bottle at the local pizza chain. No clue as to how old it was. It poured with little noticeable head and a dark brown liquid color. Hops were a little citrusy against the slightly toasted malt. Nothing too exciting here, but it would be a good session brew. Hints of vanilla also.
