KingofCastle (202), London, Ontario, Canada Jul 23, 2008 bottle: This pale bock was very good. I’m big on malts and this delivered the goods. I was wary of a beer 6.6% because often the alcohol content overwhelms the palate. I think i might have found a new style of beer to enjoy. Rogue puts out quality stuff. dcswirl (13), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jul 22, 2008 Can’t believe the ratings that this beer is getting. This beer was served at my favorite watering hole for a short time, and it was one of the worst beers I’ve ever had. It only lasted a month due to poor feedback. Maybe I’m missing something here. JCB (1716), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jul 20, 2008 An old favorite of mine, had so many times I’ve long since lost count. Funny but I’ve always thought of this as a hoppy red rather than as a maibock. Not that the styles are totally unrelated, but whatever Dead Guy is, it’s a very floral, generously hopped beer that has a full and sweet malt presence, making this one of Rogue’s more balanced and enjoyable offerings. Bigmmartin (366), Dayton, Ohio, USA Jul 20, 2008 Bottle. Hazy amber with a small diminishing head. Aroma is sweet malt and yeast. Flavor is malty yeast with some tangy citrus. Pretty decent, but nothing spectacular about this beer. Not really what I expected as far as a "Maibock" cyrenaica (435), Milton, Ontario, Canada Jul 19, 2008 355ml bottle

I tried this beer on July 1, 2008 at “Smokeless Joe’s” in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent dark golden red with a thin white ring for a head. The aroma was sweet malt, and some floral hoppiness. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with light to medium carbonation. The flavour is a little sweet with a definite hoppy taste, not grapefruit strong, but still hoppy.
afireinside96 (807), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 17, 2008 Bottle from The Captain, served in a shaker glass. Thanks Mark. Pours amber with a fluffy white head. Smells of nuts and grass. Tastes include the aforementioned nuts and grass plus some caramel character. Lightly bitter throughout. Pretty nice session lager. (pacman yeast? aren’t they an ale strain?) SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Jul 16, 2008 Slightly hazy amber pour with a medium foamy head that lasts. Nutty caramel malt and citrus aroma. Nice sweet malty flavor with hints of fruit and hops. A touch of bitterness on the finish. Well carbonated, refreshing on the palate. Good. AdamSkillin (376), High Bridge, New Jersey, USA Jul 16, 2008 Unbelievable that I haven’t rated this yet. Awesome beer, great citrusey hop flavor, perfect malt and bittering hop balance.
