COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue’s proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

I like the aroma. Its a little cloudy... reddish color. Has kind of a bitter taste to it, nothing too bad.

Bomber; just over a month old. Pours Dark orange. Light head with light lacing. Nothing special about the smell or taste. Bready malt palate with a spicy, bitter hop finish. An average beer at an above average price.

Tap. Nice ale here. Not too hoppy and very easy drinking. Enjoyed with a nice sandwich. The 6.6% wasn’t noticeable.

(12oz bottle) opaque orange pour with oily bubbles. Nose of oranges, and grapefruit/citrus. Taste of light bitterness, buttery, citrus (pineapple, oranges, ruby red grapefruit), bready, with a well carbonated fruity finish.

One of my early favorite "go to" beers. There is nothing really super special about the aroma, but the thing just taste so damn good. It’s very smooth and relaxing. You can really taste the malts and the hops.

Good heavy beer. A little hoppy for my taste but still had some nice flavors and smooth finish.

33cl bottle. Pours an orange/amber with a medium, frothy, almond head. Slightly tart nose with a powerful nose full of hops. Pleasant Saaz hops with caramel. This is so nice i will be trying to brew a clone version myself.
