Commercial Description:
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue's proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

very hoppy - cloudy - some citrusy flavors that linger on the tongue... had it at a bar in new brunswick

Slighty hazy golden color. Off white head that mosty diminishes. Not much of an aroma present. Thin mouth feel with a taste of alcohol in the finish. Just didn’t do it for me.

Imbided a 22oz from Total wine last evening. Had it before and while it is a decent bock Rogue’s done better. Colored like a dark lager, with a respectable albeit a bit thin head. Outstanding marketing on this product though, the label and title really catch the eye.

Bottle. Thank you LCBO! Appearance is orangy-amber with medium carbonation and a thick cream coloured head. Aroma is awesome.....malty carmels, licorice, floral hops, citrus and fresh garden herbs. In terms of flavour, everything gets better as this beer warms.....buiscutty malts, carmel, ripe fruits and a little alcohol followed by a mean hop kick. Mouthful is creamy, but just a tad thin. Overall an excellent beer.

Dark honey-orange colored. A bit cloudy. Small but nice foamy head. Aromas reminded me of lemon caramels every single time I smelled it ’till the end. Strong. Tastes are those of caramel, malt and a bit resiny from the hops. Good medium body. Liked it.

Pours a cloudy honey with a negligible head and lacing. Nose is very light. Whiffs of grass and citrus. On tasting, malt announces itself with a flourish, then blends in nicely with hops and pine flavors. Mouthfeel is light but with a good structure, and finish is crisp, smooth and lasting.

Pours a darker almost red color. Not much head. Very pleasant sweet malt aroma. Caramel and malt flavor with a honey aftertaste, light-medium body.
