Commercial Description:
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue's proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

Copper with a big white head that goes quickly. Nose is sweet with a bit of hops and some sweet alcohol. Mouth is alcohol, malty, smoke, pine nut, beech, hops, chocolate in order of appearance. A good, interesting, solid beer. Nice.

Pours a mild amber with stark white head. Super sweet aroma - molasses and caramel, honey and raisins. Knock you in the mouth flavor. Starts full, with a unique bitter creaminess - kind of like a sour ale, but not. Then moves straight to a full on malt parade down the back of the throat with a kick of alcohol. Damn good. (JesseM’s evaluation is more detailed, and more accurate.)

Bottle. Good looking amber but with a fizzy head that goes away too fast. The aroma is enjoyable and interesting. Kinda of a honey/toffee mixed with a little raisins. Bitter at first then sweet while kind of tingly down the throat. Rogue has disappointed me before, but this did not. Maybe my expectations were low.

Bottle. Copper-y red with a decent white head. Floral hops and malts dominate. Starts bitter, sweet and slightly hoppy, then the malt hits, and the finish is nice and crisp. Slightly watery and mildly carbonated. Overall solid, will be buying lots of this thanks to the LCBO!

Pours a honey amber, with a nice creamy white head. The aroma is fruit malts and floral hoppiness. The flavour is top notch. A touch of bitterness at first, that gives way to some awsome malty, caramel, chewy toffee goodness, a bit of dried fruit, and then a hoppy bitter finish. Over all the beer is a little sweeter then I expected, especially after trying some of rogues other beers, but the sweetness is done well. I really enjoyed this beer, and I’m glad the LCBO is finally starting to get some good american beer, even if it is only a month at a time.
