JesseM (661), Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Jun 22, 2008 Updated: Jun 28, 2008355ml bottle from the LCBO (yeah, you read that right, I was surprised too). Seeing as the last 10 ratings are more or less uesless if you want to know what this beer actually tastes like, I’ll try to describe it the best I can (seriously guys, get you s*** together and analyze, don’t just tick things off when you have them). Pours a deep copper with a medium, creamy, white head. Aroma is a nice aromatic blend of hops, but also fruity malts and some interesting ester characters. Flavour is quite interesting, bitter upfront, making way for some creamy sweet malts, toffee, caramel, fruits of vague distinction. It’s actually decently complex, more so than I was execting. At only 6.6% it feels a little boozy in the finish, though not in an unpleasant way. Quite sweet and malty, with some good bitter balance provided by the ample amount of hops. A pretty neat beer that seems to really open up as it warms, revealing more sweet layers. I’m glad the LCBO brought this one in. stankenk (130), Maplewood, Minnesota, USA Jun 21, 2008 Pours a copper color. The nose is like a traditional brown ale. Comes across the palate smoothly. It has nice clean lingering finish. sjolles85 (77), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 21, 2008 Updated: Mar 24, 2009Kick ass label forces you to take a closer look. Pours a copper color with a off white head. Sweet nose not to over powering. Smooth taste with a nice clean finish. Rogue is doing something right. Def will try it again vikingbeercbus (34), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jun 19, 2008 Dark amber body, crisp white head with a good lattice. Heavy bread aroma. Medium palate, expected it to be heavier. Long finish. A good beer, but not a personal favorite. jtodd5dot1 (32), Marina, California, USA Jun 19, 2008 Thick smooth mouthfeel. Tastes thicker than it looks. Dark burnt umber color, with a off white to almost tan head. lweiberg (89), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Jun 17, 2008 $11 a six-pack? I got a six-pack for $7.99 plus tax and really would have rather had a Two Hearted Ale. It’s pretty good, pretty creamy and soft and smooth but not really justifying the higher price. Bill86 (43), Tennessee, USA Jun 14, 2008 A decent brew, especially for the price, at $11 bucks a six pack it’s not much more expensive then corona and it’s a hell of alot better. If i was on a beer budget I would probably buy A LOT more of this. thejon375 (390), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 3, 2008 Updated: Mar 11, 2009This is my favorite beer that I have tasted so far. Overall great palate and excellent finish. Falling in love with all of the Rogue beers but this is my favorite.
