Commercial Description:
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue's proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

Finially time to review on of the first craft beers I ever had. Pours amber with a dissapating head. Nice malty aroma with hints of caramel, spice, and very sweet. Mouthfeel is thick with little carbonation. Caramel and malt in the flavor with a nice sweet malt finish. Another nice brew from Rogue.

A medium reddish brown, rather large head. Don’t notice a distinct aroma particularly. A bit sweet, not too hoppy, had a malty roasted aftertaste. Plenty of carbonation, and pleasant after taste. Easy drinking, mellow, a nice new addition to the lcbo. a little pricey, however,

draft at ruby tuesday: pours a light ice tea colour with a small foamy off white head. a good aroma of caramel malt, slight citrus spice, touches of yeast and hops are there too. flavour is very nice full of malt, citrusy spice yeast, and a lingering of hops very good beer

12 oz bottle from the LCBO. pours amber with a solid tan head that lasts forever. nice toffee malt aroma with some subdued floral hops. flavours are generously malty with hop bitterness showing in the end. very well done. smooth and sessionable at 6.6%. i could drink this one everyday.

Copper with a big white head that goes quickly. Nose is sweet with a bit of hops and some sweet alcohol. Mouth is alcohol, malty, smoke, pine nut, beech, hops, chocolate in order of appearance. A good, interesting, solid beer. Nice.

Copper color. Med-Full bodied with a fair amount of hoppiness. Hints of caramel with a bit of chewiness.

Pours a mild amber with stark white head. Super sweet aroma - molasses and caramel, honey and raisins. Knock you in the mouth flavor. Starts full, with a unique bitter creaminess - kind of like a sour ale, but not. Then moves straight to a full on malt parade down the back of the throat with a kick of alcohol. Damn good. (JesseM’s evaluation is more detailed, and more accurate.)

Bottle. Good looking amber but with a fizzy head that goes away too fast. The aroma is enjoyable and interesting. Kinda of a honey/toffee mixed with a little raisins. Bitter at first then sweet while kind of tingly down the throat. Rogue has disappointed me before, but this did not. Maybe my expectations were low.
