zappafan99 (462), Ascension Island May 16, 2008 Updated: Jul 4, 2008Golden honey color wearing a nice white cap. Hop then more malt hits my nose. Nice even palate. Flavors are arranged evenly. A well made brew. Nothing overdone, nothing missing. Like a special bitter. The younger, deader brother to Brutal bitter. Probably a better session beer. killtuba (11), Burke, Virginia, USA May 14, 2008 great session beer - good flavor, aroma - excellent mix of malt flavor with hops. elcaballo (101), Beverly Hills, California, USA May 13, 2008 Super easy to drink the flavor is not the most memorable but its enjoyable with a nice balance. Its not the greatest beer in the world but i might pick it up again. Perhaps the style is a touch bland for my tastes dmtroyer (409), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA May 13, 2008 12oz. Pours clear amber with a white head that leaves quickly. Nose is a bit subdued, but shows some dried cherries and caramel. Body shows some more caramel, a bit of honey, some earl grey tea, and of course some bitter lemon rind from the hops. Palate is very good with a certain amount of viscosity and dry finish. Some lager-like properties when the finish lingers. A good beer. posikyle (165), Alabama, USA May 13, 2008 Updated: May 15, 2008Pours slightly cloudy orange color, with a malty aroma and loose head. Taste is slightly malty, tasted a little watered down. Not my favorite, but something I would buy again. Goes great with pork chops davidoc (113), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 12, 2008 Poured orangish-brown from a bottle with a thin head. Malty aroma, very light taste. Not very memorable, and somewhat expensive. phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA May 12, 2008 Always an old reliable. This one pours nicely with a big head copper coloured body, and nice retention in the head. Best off the tap, in my opinion. It is full bodied with plenty of retention, and a wonderful creamy mouthfeel. KimJohansen (6676), Copenhagen V, Denmark May 12, 2008 Hazy amber with medium off white head. Sweet aroma with notes of caramel, ripe fruits and malt. Flavor likewise with a light bitter end.
