Commercial Description:
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue's proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

my first heller bock. thought it was an amber till i saw it on here. that being said, it kinda tasted like a standard amber. caramel/malty, small hop presence. nice beer.

Bottle. Dark amber pour. Sweet malt aroma with just a little fruit. The taste was malty with a touch of bitter at the finish. Good carbonation. It’s OK.

This is what I want a beer to be. Medium amber colored, big white fluffy head, clean and crisp, little bit bitter and a lasting clean finish. That and a scary ass bottle. Instant classic.

Bottle at Bishops Arms Järntorget göteborg: Hazy red colour, flat head. Aroma of lots of US hops, and nice sweet/fruity nose. Flavor is sweet and fruity, some caramelly mouthfeeling, medium body, and has a nice medium fruity/hopy finish. Nice.

Pours golden-red with practically no head. It tastes good, kinda sweet but a little thin. The hops are not strong, yet they seem unsupported somehow. This beer is fine and I could drink plenty of it. P.S. For some reason I’m tasting white grape in this beer. Also it starts to look like white grape juice once you get down to the bottom of the glass. Huh
