COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue’s proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

Pours a dark orange color with a small white head that mostly diminished, and Ok acing. Aroma is very malty. Taste is also caramel malty with a bit of grapefruit hops. Fairly smooth mouthfeel and medium in body.

355ml bottle at home , poured into a glass tankard, ABV 6.5% Dark orange colour on the body, slighty hazy, with a small but quite thick white head, with quite good retention, leaving light lacing around the glass. The appearance only is much better than any heller bock I had till now. Aroma has olenty of hops, caramel, sweet malts, tropical fruits. Taste is very hoppy and bitter too, with the bitterness multiplying on its way to the aftertaste. Again tropical fruits, pineapple, mango, little caramel. Medium body, average carbonation, very dry palate. Great beer, definitey the best heller bock I had.

Appearance is golden with an orange hue and cloudy with a white foam cap that dissipated quickly. Aroma is caramel malt and honey with a distinct floral hop/yeast quality. Taste is rich caramel malt with residual sweetness and honey, with a well balanced hop bite and fruity yeast character. Almost has a slight tea character. Mouthfeel is medium with a medium-high carbonation. Finishes crisp and dry with a lingering caramel malt

Amber color with a very small head. Aroma is a little malt and slight hops. Taste is a little weird to me. A lot of malt then a lot of hops and then some alcohol at the end. I guess it’s well made but it’s not for me.

Light aroma. Clear amber color. Crisp and clean. Nice malt flavor, no bitterness. Leaves a residual malt flavor.

Aroma of banana, raisins mixed with hops spicyness. There is also nice touch of bread and caramel notes. In higher temperature alcohol is really noticeable. Taste: Very malty (bread, caramel) with toasted flavours. Spicyness, flowery notes which reminds me of black tea. It is quite sweet with dry, little sour finish. Good balance, malty and fruity beer. We can see that they used much hops. High drinkability. Good one.

Appearance: Hazy amber color with a fine tan head. Lovely lacing.
Aroma: Ehhh almost no aroma at all. Quite strange. A bit fruity and mild hoppy after a while.
Palate: Medium + body. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Soft carbonation. Oily texture.
Taste: Bready, fruity and mild hoppy.
Overall impression: A bit to mild and anonymous.
Personal stats: Bottle Roberths daughter bought in New York
