2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Finally ventured beyond the void and purchased a bottle of this one, so here goes...
Into a snifter at just on cool. Bright copper with fine carbonation that is hasty in its ascent. Head little more than a wafer thin, compact pad of white that does hold. Biscuity sweet, malty and edged by notes of Ceylon tea, pumpernickel, burnt toast, rolled oats and puffed wheat is the breakfast cereal-esque aroma - drabby and stale. Unremarkable and honestly ho hum on the palate had me asking ’is this it!?’ Creamy, frothy, light and unconsuming on the palate. Burnt fruit dominates and is long lasting. Candyish but on the scorched side. Burnt toast, light tannins, overbrewed Earl grey and then its oily in the finish to boot. Residuallly sweet and sticky and generally not much fun to drink. ’I was up here now I am down there’ type of beer. Disappointing! ( 12fl.Oz, no date stamp, Cellarbrations Carlisle)

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
From the bomber, has a nice cloudy two tone (brown on the bottom, orange on top) look to it, little to no collar. Smells of sweet malt. Starts out really sweet but once the palate adjusts it evens out with carbonation and is very drinkable. I don’t remember having a maibock when I spent time in Germany, but then again I don’t remember a lot of things I did there. This is a delightful change of pace from what I usually drink, and I like that they made a German beer to celebrate a Mayan custom. Cheers.

From tap, dark yellow-orange coloured non filtered ale, medium bitterness and light malty sweetness. Rich mouthfeel. Nice one!

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from BeerMerchants.
Pours hazy amber orange, with a single finger off white head. Aroma of sweet malts, dark fruits, and some hops too, faint.... Taste of initial fruits, then some light malts, then honey and extreme fruits and bitterness. Very good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tough beer for me to rate. First of this style. Most beers I like have a stronger flavor. I didn’t get much of a distinctive smell out of it. Pours a nice amber color with lasting lacing. There is tingling on the tongue upfront. The middle is a smooth malty feeling. Sweet, somewhat caramel or butterscotch hints, though not overpowering. A bit too much carbonation at the end for my liking (considering the middle felt so smooth). There are hints of hops bitterness, but nothing that even compares to a pale ale.
Very drinkable beer. Came to the conclusion that this is one that will not stand out on unique or powerful tastes, but a great beer to go to if you just want to enjoy a good beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20

A well-balanced, substantial ale with a clean finish. The Dead Guy has a pleasant amber hue and a nice hippy bite.

Only slightly better than a generic/cheap beer. Not as bitter but no discernible flavors. Not very good.
