Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue’s proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

Orange-rötlich im Glas, golden. In der Nase Aprikose, Honig, Hefe, Malznoten, Bonbons und etwas Kräuter. Sehr komplex, sehr schön. Am gaumen Honig, Bitterkeit präsent, hopfig, süßlich. Normaler Körper, interessantes Bier.

Pleasantly bitter, yet malty orange bock with a substantial amount of fruity notes. Alcohol pops into the finish but not so that it is disturbing.

Slightly hazy honey/amber, thin dense off-white head that leaves also lacing. Really malty aroma, bread, bit earthy, semisweet. Light body, thin to almost watery, dry and malty with semilong finish, low carbonation. Bit one-sided and lacks body.

Dead guy, what can I say this is a beer that you can drink anytime (anytime drinking is allowed, that is). Nice malt flavor, hint of caramel, smooth and finishes crisp. Love it.

Eh it’s okay. I think it’s a little overhyped. The taste is alright. It’s kind of sweet and earthy. A little grassy. Biscuity malts for sure. It’s just alright. I have had it so many times and each time I have the same reaction. I just think this is one of those hype machine beers. I’m not a huge fan of rogue beers as it is. I think they are overpriced and taste average. I want to like this it’s just hard, it’s not that great.

Pours a medium clear amber in color with a frothy white head. Aroma of caramel, nuts, grass, earthy hops and yeast. Taste is rich melanoidins, caramel, toast, earth and grassy hops with a mouthfull of moderate bitterness. Bitterness isn’t harsh but seems too balanced towards the bitterness and isn’t as clean as a bock should be...very crisp with a dry finish but not clean enough.

Pours a clear copper color with white head. I remember the first time I tried it I couldn’t drink the whole thing because it was too bitter, but now it’s fine.
