COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue’s proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

Nice caramel malty aroma. A little fruit. Big malty flavor with yeasty bread notes. Slightly sweet. Some hoppiness in the finish. A very nice beer. I enjoyed it.

Bottle 35.5cl. Clear medium amber, small frothy off-white head, diminishes slowly, thin layer remains, almost no lacing; arosweet malt aroma, grain, caramel, orange peel, biscuit, grass, light alcohol; taste medium sweet and bitter, fruity, spicy notes; medium body, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation, aftertaste moderate bittersweet, spicy and alcoholic notes; nice but not really a Bock.

One-finger head on top of chesnut brown body. Slightly cloudy. Aroma is malt fruitiness, some apples and toffee. Taste contains a hop bittering which punches through the malt character at the end. Very well balanced and moreish.

Creamy ale, not as much of the sweet German influence as I was expecting, decent, but no better.

Výčap Zlý časy. Bledšia jantárová farba, biela pena. Vôňa sladká, ovocná, ľahko karamelová. V chuti stredne plné telo, nízka nasýtenosť. Zo začiatku sladkosť ovocia, neskôr karamelové chute a v pozadí veľmi príjemná dochuť prezretého ovocia. Výborné.

Plain old ale, nothing surprising, medium carbonation, nicely balanced malts and undercurrent woody notes.

The Cannery Row Beer Club enjoyed the Brewery's beer that made them famous. This cost $6.

Fresh and malty. Smooth, hints of sweetness. The mainpart is a bit sharp, typical Heller Bock flavours, sweetness with a nice bitter aftertaste. Round and fresh with not too much depth. A bit sticky in the end without being too sweetish. Nice.
