COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue’s proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

Strong sweet honey/malt aroma as the beer is poured in the glass, with what seems to be a bit of fruitiness from the hops. Clear copper brown, white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Sweet taste, get the honey/malt again as expected from the nose, almost no hop bitterness but a bit of hop flavor. Medium bodied. A bit of alcohol showing itself. OK beer.

A well-balanced, substantial ale with a clean finish. The Dead Guy has a pleasant amber hue and a nice hippy bite.

Only slightly better than a generic/cheap beer. Not as bitter but no discernible flavors. Not very good.

Pours a dark slightly hazy amber-orange with an average size fizzy off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, fruit and a touch of hops. Taste is fruity with fresh floral hops along with caramel malt and honey-- sweetness and bitterness are incredibly balanced.

Bottle. Deep orange colour. Medium white head. Flavour of caramel, honey and more malt aroma that i can't define. No hops. Flavour of caramel malt, some dried fruits. Surprising medium bitter finish. Medium body high carbo. Good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark golden appearance, with almost no head. Fresh aromas of citrus and honey. Complex taste of honey, dark caramel and vanilla with a very pleasing aftertaste

Bottle. Caramel to brown in colour, low carbonation, slightly opaque. Aroma is, well, malty with some timid hops. Taste is rich and round, slightly bitter aftertaste. Good mouthfeel. Perfect (or close) beer in the sun!

Pours golden from 12 oz with medium persistent tan head. Malty honey aroma. Complex malt flavor with honey, hints of tangerine/citrus fruit, and decidedly bitter end. Medium bodied with ample carbonation to support malt. Fantastic beer, complex and drinkable though wouldn’t really call it a maibock.

Muffiger Geruch. Relativ Restsüß, nachhängende Bittere. Aromen nach himbeere bzw. Waldbeere.
