COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue’s proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

This beer surprised me. Went out on a limb and bought a six of it. Really nice amber sunset color with a frothy head. Malty at first but very well balanced by immediate hop intervention. An overall great tasting ale.

Amber color, slight white had. Taste is Carmel malty, with an almost ice tea taste with bisquety finish. Very nice Heller Bock.

Love the pour, love the mouthfeel, & the taste is well balanced but just not quite flavorful enough. Still a very solid drinkable beer & far less hoppy than I imagine. Pretty good for a warm summer night. Decent!

Small bottle at Hop & Vine on Burnaby Mountain, served in a St Bernardus snifter. Surprising it’s taken me this long to get around to this Westcoast classic. Lots of fruit and malts here, less so with the hops, which are well in the background. Sweet, malty finish. Nice!

Pours amber with a off white head. The malt aromas dominate the hops. Very smooth and light. Great session brew.

Aroma was not strong when opened. Slight sweet hints. Clear brown appearance. The non aroma carried over to taste. smooth with only slight bitter aftertaste. It is nothing to write home about.

Pours a darkish amber color with an off white head. The aroma was of light floral hops and sweet grains. The flavor was sweet grains with a little bitterness. Goes down smooth with a light bitter aftertaste. Overall a good beer.

Takie sobie.
