COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dead Guy is a German-style Maibock made with Rogue’s proprietary "PacMan" ale yeast. It is deep honey in color with a malty aroma, rich hearty flavor and a well balanced finish. Dead Guy is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, Maier Munich and Carastan malts, along with Perle and Saaz Hops.
In the early 1990s Dead Guy Ale was created as a private tap sticker to celebrate the Mayan Day of the Dead (November 1st, All Souls Day) for Casa U Betcha in Portland, Oregon. The Dead Guy design proved popular and was incorporated into a bottled product a few years later with MaierBock as the elixir.

650ml bottle.
Pours a "deep honey" beer with a tall cream coloured head. Hoppy nose, lots of Saaz and a little light fruits. Malty flavour of honey, syrup, a small amount of wood and just a hint of alcohol. Creamy smooth feel, chewy, sweet and bready finish. A little too sweet and creamy for me, I would have preferred a bit more bitterness and crispness to balance it out. But overall not a bad beer.

2nd beer from Rogue. Seems like a top brewery. Pine, honey in the aroma. Sweet perhaps mandarin. Wouldn’t have been wrong with more carbonation. Plenty of hops.

On tap at Union Jacks Columbia MD. Slightly cloudy yellow (perhaps a hint of copper color), small white head. Aroma is biscuit malty and light fruit but not a strong aroma. Flavor is some caramel malt with slightly fruity notes. Some grassy hops in the dry finish. Not exciting, but a solid craft beer.

I'm pleasantly surprised with this one. Strong biscuity malts, but overall it's well balanced. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I know I’ve had this one multiple times and never rated it. Pours cloudy copper color with off white head. Aroma is caramel malt with fruitiness. Flavor is caramel malt with some biscuity flavors followed by some fruity notes. Some orange flavors in finish. Finishes smooth. This is a really balanced malty brew.

Orange colour, aroma is very malty... honey, apricot. Sweet malty taste with a sticky texture, mid-low bitterness. Quite rich aroma and flavor, too sweet and malty for me though.
