4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draft pour at the Issaquah brew house. Pours black with a big tan head. Chocolate powder and roasted malt aroma. Huge, sweet chocolate flavor. I’m a total suckered for these super chocolately milk shake flavor beers. This one is no exception. Big creamy chocolate malt finish. Awesome beer. Loved it.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a bomber into a tulip on 05.15.14.
A: Motor oil. No red at all. 1 finger tan head that retains well.
S: Milk chocolate, cocoa powder, latte.
T: Chocolate is dominant. Slight cocoa roastiness and fig are subtle.
M: Creamy smooth.
O: This has some alcohol warming, but it doesn’t burn the nostrils. The chocolate and fig really come out. This is a great stout, although it is pricey. I wouldn’t buy it again because of what I’ve heard about Rogue, though.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 ml painted bottle. Hueless inky darkest brown, fading mocha head. Aroma is mostly chocolate, toasty, coffee hint. Smooth darker milk chocolate malt taste, milder roasted malts, bittersweet. Soft carbonation, medium-full bodied, lightly hopped. Delicious. Perfect after Christmas dinner sipper. DNFL (Definitely Not For Lagerboys)

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Loads of chocolate, the 50 IBU seems a low, this seemed more, the bitterness became more apparent as the softness and sugary chocolate front became less. I would liked to have had more middle in this, more body. I though the finish was more towards sour than I would also have liked, but I am being picky this is a great beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Look: pours a dark black. A dark brown sugar head. Not oily at all.
Smell: heavy chocolate. Sweet fruits. Vanilla.
Taste: bitter chocolate. Vanilla. Bitter coffee. Coconut.
Feel: very dry. Leaves a thin film on the mouth.
Overall: ok beer. Looking for more of a candy flavor than the bitterness and dryness with a name like double chocolate.
First drank: home 11/8/14
