From the red-painted bottle. Sexy pour of deep dark chocolate brown with a creamy head. The aroma is tantalizing to say the least; full of dark chocolate allure. The flavor is darn close to hot chocolate, with a little hint of an alcoholic kick and subtle bitterness. With a nice creamy, milky mouthfeel, this is damn near the perfect after-dinner beverage. Outstanding! (#4066, 1/30/2011)
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 ChainGangGuy (4132) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - JAN 27, 2011
16 ounce pint - $7.00 at Taco Mac in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Inky black body with fizzling head the color of toasted khaki-colored pants.
Smell: Sniff it up! Smells like choklat, er, I mean double chocolaty.
Taste: Roasty, caramel-coated malts adulterated with a strong dark bittersweet chocolate flavor. Touch of dark fruitiness. You can tell there’s a bitterness present, but any hop flavor is entombed beneath the chocolate. Very minute amount of astringency arrives late, striking the back of the tongue. Splash of Starbuck’s VIA instant coffee. Sliver of alcohol warmth. Longly lingering chocolate taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-full body. Medium-low carbonation. Velvety, weighty mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Did you enjoy Choklat? Then, you should enjoy this as well. Did you dig Double Chocolate Stout? Then, you should dig Choklat, too. Although, the three percentage points less alcohol is appreciated.

Gorgeous! Pours the deepest mahogany, with a thick deep brown ice-cream head that retains for a long time, leaving chunky pocked lacing. The aromas are of heavy chocolate. Flavors of baker’s chocolate, dark chocolate roasts, some earthen bitters, and a deep chocolate semi-sweet finish. Boy oh boy, the chocolate abounds in this brew! What a wonderful offering, with a thick, creamy mouthfeel and big, bold body. Roasted chocolate loveliness!

Excellent beverage, clearly surpassing its predecessor. The aroma is a very nice roatyness, dark bitter chocolate. The color is jet black, dark tan head, oily, viscous appearance. The flavor is chocolate milk, espresso, vanilla. The finish is pure roasted coffee, but like a smooth roasted coffee. After a few seconds, a slight pine bitterness emerges. Mediium/thick to thick in body, creamy mouthfeel. Excellent.
