Pours a silky brownish-black forming a creamy chocolate-colored head. First sip, I would describe as a "chocolate kiss" and I've had a lot of those. Aroma doesn't scream cocoa as you might expect. Long-lasting bitter-sweet finish. Around sip #6, a slight buzz kicks in...so at 8.7% abv its safe to say there's a decent amount of alcohol in here. Lacing is very milky...little breakage on each sip. Much more flavor arrived once my glass cooled off. Added a little Godiva Milk Chocolate just to see if I could bring out more flavor and I should've grabbed the Dark Chocolate Godiva. Yet, I still think I've found love. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at the Distillery & Public House in Portland, OR. Pours a black body with a finger-width, creamy, dark brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is rich, dark and milky chocolates with lots of cocoa nibs and some light roasts and vanilla. Flavor is similar. Plenty of rich, sweet, milky and dark chocolates up front with a light vanilla, light roasts, and a light earthy bitterness. Cocoa nibs come out aplenty towards the end as this finishes sweet, but fairly dry with some earth, light roasts, and plenty of chocolate. Lengthy aftertaste following a full body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid, sweeter Imperial Stout with a nice earthy bitterness and light roast backing. Plenty of cocoa nibs and a good amount of vanilla. Nice beer.

Large painted bottle. Thin tan head. Color is black. Nose is sweet and alcoholic. Tastes like sweet chocolate, coffee and roasted malts with substantial hop bitterness. Finish is long and bitter-sweet. Not bad, but I prefer Brooklyn Brewery’s Black Chocolate Stout.

Bottle from mane liquor. Pours a jet black with a creamy tanned head leaving superb lacing. Aromas of powered cocoa, milk chocolate, espresso and a hint of licorice. Taste has so much chocolate as I expected. At the back end roasted espresso and milk chocolate become evident. Palate is left clucking for more. Pretty easy drinking stout great stuff

Liquid chocolate bar! Very chocolatey. Can taste coffee notes too. Not very much roasted malt comes through -- but did I mention the chocolate? Splendid stout. Not complex at all, but fun! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very chocolatey, I knew what I was getting into with a double chocolate stout, but personal preference I prefer a good imperial stout with more coffee flavor. Great beer tho, would drink again.

Amazing. Best stout I’ve ever drank. Roasty, malty, hints of hops, and perfect chocolaty aftertaste. Rogue has done it’s again...

Opaque dark chocolate body with a milk chocolate head. Aroma of chocolate. Flavors of chocolate and bitter chocolate and chocolate beans and a tiny bit of coffee and cocoa powder. Even the mouth had a chocolate astringency. If your like chocolate you will love this.

Yummy. This is what I expect from a double chocolate stout. At first it was real bitter for me, but then that just smoothed out to chocolate goodness. Poured black. Had nice chocolate aroma. Didn't have much head or lacing on the glass. If you can find this, get it. - check out more at www.beeriam.com

Pours completely black. Head starts off like a chocolate foam but quickly goes away to nothing. Aroma is chocolate. Starts off chocolate and finishes with some roast flavor. Wait around and you can detect the higher alcohol.
