On draught at WOB, Pitch black with a creamy khaki film. Amazing chocolate aroma, milk chocolate , cocoa nibs and roasted malts. Creamy full body. slightly dry finish. Bitter chocolate flavors, hints of vanilla and espresso. Nice balance of chocolate and malts . Really nice one.

Pours jet black, with a brown head. Aromas of milk chocolate and coffee. Taste is clearly of milk chocolate, bittersweet coffee, and some molasses. I was expecting something sweeter, but the notes of bitter, dark chocolate match the sweeter chocolate. Very smooth, and easy to drink. Tasty, but not as chocolaty sweet as I was led to believe. I will buy another bottle later to see if it is better the second time around.

Bottle @ The BeerMongers... Poured jet black with a light brown head. Nose had significant chocolate syrup and mild roast. Sort of dry with a thinnish mouthfeel. Roast and ash that mixed with a toasted sweetness and chocolate tones. Some molasses bittersweetness.

750ml bottle: Pours a dark black with a nice tan head. Aroma is strong chocolate with some nutty undertones. Taste is very chocolate, almost too much on most levels. Aftertaste is a tad bitter. Not overly complex, mostly chocolate, chocolate. Good beer, but I would not necessarily buy another.

On tap at the Flying Saucer in Houston. Pours black with a brown head. Nose is of chocolate syrup. Taste is of chocolate syrup. Mouthfeel is thick, syrupy and mouth-coating. A bit one-dimensional and overly sweet. Tasty, in small quantities. Not a lot going on here other than alcoholic chocolate syrup. Would be great on vanilla ice cream.

On tap at Queen Vic. Pours a dark brown with a small tan head leavimg good sticky lacing. The aroma is a Dark chocolate and nuts with light roast. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet syrup chocolate and marshmallow and a nice lingering light smoke finish. Easy to drink, a very impressive Imperial stout from Rogue.

Aroma is perfect. That of straight chocolate and caramel. Appearance is nice with a healthy tan head upon pour that laces into a halo. Brown cocoa like rings circle the bottom of my snifter. Tastes of candy bar- faux or milky way. Amazing with icecream. Palate is extremely smooth and creamy. Perfect carbonation. Overall my favorite x

Wow, its like they put some hershey’s syrup into it like chocolate milk! Great aroma, although the real chocolate doesnt come through in the aroma, but hits you like a ton of bricks on the first sip. Perfect black color with a brown head, very drinkable, the taste hides the abv a little too well, its like a beer float, so delicious, then BAM! your feeling the alcohol, oh well, just makes it that much more enticing.

Intense chocolate and coffee aroma. Black body and thick tan head. There’s just the right amount of carbonation to balance the strong cocoa flavor. Good alternative to a typical imperial stout.
