3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Huge slabs of cacoa dominate this brew. Not a sweet chocolate, but the potent kick of dark chocolate. The brew has a undertone of roasted malt which quickly morphs into a creamy chocolate experience which goes on to a long finish of biter chocolate. Masks the booze well. Perhaps a little too one dimensional for me... but what a dimension! The epitome of a chocolate stout!

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught at Brickwall. Poured a deep dark black body with an average sized light tan head. Aroma is amazing, even when cold there is a ton of dark chocolate coming through. Upon some warming it’s loads of dark bakers chocolate, dry brown toast, hint of coffee. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavor is much like the aroma and dominated by dark chocolate along with some dry toast and a touch of bitterness on the end. One of the best chocolate beers I’ve ever had.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
I was really hesitant to rate this as highly as I did, but I couldn’t help it. Aroma is heavily chocolate influenced with malt and beer undertones. Pours very dark and thick with a moderate head. VERY easy on the palate, to the point that you’re only one step removed from drinking chocolate milk, it’s so smooth. Sweetness of the chocolate combines well with the chocolate from the malts. Damn...

Wow amazing beer. Huge chocolate and coffee. And for a big beer still easy to drink. Pours jet black with tan head.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Black pour with a dark brown head. Bittersweet aroma, definitely a lot of chocolate. The flavor is what you would expect from the aroma, starts out with a little bitterness but finishes with a strong sweet chocolate flavor. Smooth bodied, and an easy to drink imperial stout, hard to believe that it is 9% alcohol. Solid beer.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft from Coalhouse Pizza. This is a powerful stout with tons of flavor, particularly from the added chocolate. Barley flavors are pleasant and there is a faint cherry note on this beer as well. Nice lacing throughout the pint. While not my favorite Rogue beer and also not reaching the hype that I’ve perceived, this is a damn good imperial stout.

chocolate, coffee, dough, black, cloudy, frothy, heavy cloying sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour, medium body, creamy, soft carbonation, I really enjoyed this draft.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle in ’10 with friends. Pours a deep black with a thick and creamy head and soapy lacing. Aromas of heavy cocoa, bitter toffee, fudge, and vanilla. Taste is roasted malts, coffee beans, dark chocolate melt, and light hops. Bitter toasty finish on this bad boy. Warming in chest. Pretty good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sample from bottle. Black pour, light tan head. Who would have guessed it, but this is a very chocolate forward beer, sort of a mix of bitter dark chocolate and sweet milk chocolate, with notes of roasted malt and dry cocoa powder. Would be a good dessert beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Found some old phone ratings. Pitch black pour with a small tan head. Nose is strong dark chocolate, vanilla bean, dark roasted malts. Taste is smooth and creamy bittersweet chocolate, deep roasted malts and earthiness. Ends with a good bitter note. Full bodied with a hint of alcohol.
