Presentation: 750mL bottle with a red coating. Served in a pint glass. Appearance: Two finger dark tan head that fizzles out rather quickly. It’s pretty much black in color and it leaves some good lacing. Smell: A sweet chocolate smell dominates, with some hints of roasted malt in the background. Taste: Tastes of dark and milk chocolate, with some smokiness from the roasted malt. It’s very sweet. There’s some bitterness at the end but it’s not really that noticeable. Mouthfeel: There’s very little carbonation. It’s creamy, smooth, full bodied and rather strong. After drinking about half a glass it starts getting cloying because of the sweetness. Overall: It’s a sweet treat, best to have it in small doses. You’ll enjoy it a lot more if you pair it with any chocolate dessert, because by itself it’ll just feel like too much sweetness after a while.

On tap @ Chuck’s 85th. Pours deep thick opaque brownish black with thin lacy mocha head that lingers. Aroma is big rich milk chocolate, dry oaky roasty malts in the background a bit. Taste is dark roasty malt, light char adding further dark depth, rich dark chocolate follows through the finish. Dry, oaky, clean finish. Minimal barrel-aged notes on this, which honestly separate it from other top tier imperial stouts. Still, great flavor and lots to like here.

Dark brown with a thick tan head. Smells like a chocolate malted with a touch of coffee and oats. Creamy full body with a tang. Taste is Hershey’s syrup, caramel, orange peel and pine. Primarily sweet, as expected, with a good dose of hops to add some balance and contrast. Finishes with cocoa and espresso

Bottle, 750ml. A pitch black beer with a small brown head and a red hue at the top. Aroma is of dark chocolate, the bitter one and another dark but creamy, coffee and nuts. Taste is bitter with a sweet chocolate finish. Robust and oily with some carbonation and astringency. Aftertaste reminds me of black coffee. Very strong, yet well balanced considering its high ABV and all the rich flavors.

Bottle, 750ml. Opaque dark brown/ruby with a minimal head. Sweet chocolate aroma with a hint of spices and peanut butter. Rich and smooth, with a deep roasted character and a chocolate bitter finish. Exquisite

On tap at PreFunk. Wasn’t expecting it to be this good, but its pretty damn tasty. Chocolatey, just like that name says. Creamy texture, dark semi sweet chocolate dominates the nose. Small creamy beige head. Taste is chocolate, coffee, roast grains, burnt toast. Silky smooth, bittersweet finish. Yea, it deserves the score....

What a fantastic beer. I had this in from a bomber. Great cascade on the pour. Head sets up nice, and leaves a great lacing as you enjoy. Chocolatey, sweet, with the right amount of bitter. Another job well done from Rogue.
