4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
750ml Bottle. The pour was a thick deep dark black with a large (2-3 finger) medium cocoa brown creamy head that reduced slowly, down to a thick puddled film with a medium collar and produced absolutely great drippy sticky lacing.
The aroma right up front was all about the chocolate with a bold roasted malt and a heavy doughy yeast along with notes of chocolate of course (dark and milk), roasted coffee and a slight hint of vanilla that was just barely noticeable.
The taste was really fantastic with a nice thick maltiness and a milk chocolate sweetness from the get go, becoming a just tad bitter with a mild coffee presence and a big dose of bitter chocolate towards the finish. The flavor lasted for an extremly long time following the swallow, with the chocolate taste fading away and leaving behind a mild bitter roastiness to linger for a while longer.
Mouthfeel was full in body with an exceptionally creamy texure and a soft carbonation.
Overall this is one fantastic tasting brew!! It possesses a ton of roasty chocolate flavor along with a mild smooth bitterness, which together does an awesome job of totally concealing the high ABV, making this a very easy to drink and extremely enjoyable brew...

Tap at tap room in Portland. In large goblet. Black with off white head that was allegedly spilled by rosskyle. Sweet chocolate nose. Taste is very chocolate and creamy. Delicious. Soft with very little bite. Warming. Finish could be more. Perfect after a meal. Good stuff.

Aromas are milk chocolate, caramel, chocolate syrup, caramilk bar. Nice cocoa nib flavours, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, lactose. Big sweet and bitter. Excellent.

This is like drinking a beer version of moonstruck cocoa! Pours a rich brown/black with a creamy espresso head. Rich mouthfeel and tastes of Dutch cocoa with some vanilla on the nose. Slight hop bitterness and a warm finish. A great stout!

Dark body with a THICK, creamy head. And nice carbonation. The head tastes of rich chocolate mousse. The beer is smooth and rich with a slight bitterness balanced by a semi sweet chocolate and a hint of figs.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour on tap at Busters on 28th, thick black pour with dark caramel head, aroma brought notes of big chocolate, coffee, some roast into vanilla, molasses, touch of spicy, grassy notes. Taste was a mix of cocoa, roast, big milk chocolate into a bit of vanilla, brown sugar, slight spicy notes, finishing sweet. Nice, like a more balanced version of Choklat from Southern Tier.

Not as chocolatey as some but still had the absolute obvious point of chocolate. Heavy in thickness on the mouth. Bottle

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 oz bottle. Aroma is sweet chocolate. Opaque black color with tight tan head. A little sweetness from the added chocolate, but it’s just about right. Any more would be too sweet. Enough bitterness to balance the chocolate. Full bodied, nice. Overall a very smooth tasting IS that does not taste as strong as it is. Very nice, if you don’t mind the sweet.
