750ml Bottle. The pour was a thick deep dark black with a large (2-3 finger) medium cocoa brown creamy head that reduced slowly, down to a thick puddled film with a medium collar and produced absolutely great drippy sticky lacing. The aroma right up front was all about the chocolate with a bold roasted malt and a heavy doughy yeast along with notes of chocolate of course (dark and milk), roasted coffee and a slight hint of vanilla that was just barely noticeable. The taste was really fantastic with a nice thick maltiness and a milk chocolate sweetness from the get go, becoming a just tad bitter with a mild coffee presence and a big dose of bitter chocolate towards the finish. The flavor lasted for an extremly long time following the swallow, with the chocolate taste fading away and leaving behind a mild bitter roastiness to linger for a while longer. Mouthfeel was full in body with an exceptionally creamy texure and a soft carbonation. Overall this is one fantastic tasting brew!! It possesses a ton of roasty chocolate flavor along with a mild smooth bitterness, which together does an awesome job of totally concealing the high ABV, making this a very easy to drink and extremely enjoyable brew...

Chocolate chocolate chocolate! Some choc stouts taste synthetic. This one gets that balance just right. Pours black and oily with dense tan head. The bouquet is all chocolate. The chocolate comes through on the palate with hints of coffee along for the ride. The finish lasts for minutes of chocolate coffee and vanilla. Perhaps a touch too high in alcohol but nice nonetheless.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo, consumed at Isobels, Eardisley, Herefordshire, Friday ’New Years Day 1st January 2016 Pours black with a light beige head. Rich chocolate, cocoa powder, milk chocolate in the mouth but strangely there is some dark bitter chocolate at the same time. Thick mouthfeel, rich, lingering chocolate, hoppiness also shows. This is a fab’ beer, really great, Loz was blown away. A8 A4 T9 P4 Ov17 4.2

Quite a fine beer actually. Lots of roast, and big dark chocolate. Pours black with great head and lacing. Creamy consistency. Some caramel. Bittersweet finish. Bottle.

Big bottle. Fridge chilled. Shared 3 ways. Served in snifter. Small tan head. Fairly heavy lacing. Aroma is light malts and heavy chocolate. Touch of hops. Taste is medium bitter and lightly sweet. Notes of dry chocolate. Lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied beer with average carbonation. Overall pretty good chocolate beer. Not sweet or artificial tasting. Slightly hoppy.

22oz thanks to my dad. Oily black pour with a thick khaki head. Aroma is German chocolate cake. Flavor is what the bottle says. It chocolate, more chocolate, and even more chocolate. Not my first choice in beers but probably my favorite rogue beer. Straight liquid Hershey bar. I’m not sure how else to describe it. I live this once a year or so.

Wow, a great combination of chocolate and imperial. This pours deep dark with a lasting skim of brown foam. The aroma is subtle, but amazing - dark semi-sweet chocolate. Flavor is more complex with the noticeable chocolate combining with roasted malt and a slight bitter hop balance. I can go sweeter in this genre, but wow, what balance.
