750ml Bottle. The pour was a thick deep dark black with a large (2-3 finger) medium cocoa brown creamy head that reduced slowly, down to a thick puddled film with a medium collar and produced absolutely great drippy sticky lacing.
The aroma right up front was all about the chocolate with a bold roasted malt and a heavy doughy yeast along with notes of chocolate of course (dark and milk), roasted coffee and a slight hint of vanilla that was just barely noticeable.
The taste was really fantastic with a nice thick maltiness and a milk chocolate sweetness from the get go, becoming a just tad bitter with a mild coffee presence and a big dose of bitter chocolate towards the finish. The flavor lasted for an extremly long time following the swallow, with the chocolate taste fading away and leaving behind a mild bitter roastiness to linger for a while longer.
Mouthfeel was full in body with an exceptionally creamy texure and a soft carbonation.
Overall this is one fantastic tasting brew!! It possesses a ton of roasty chocolate flavor along with a mild smooth bitterness, which together does an awesome job of totally concealing the high ABV, making this a very easy to drink and extremely enjoyable brew...

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nose is thick with caramel and chocolate. Mild sweetness paired with a heady dose of malts makes a brew that is not only richly dark with a beautiful toffee colored head, but wonderful and smooth on the palate. Best enjoyed when it's cold outside, in place of hot chocolate.

A wonderful chocolate smell from the start. Taste: bitter dark chocolate. It’s decent but something is off with this one.

Sweet Chocolaty Jesus. This beer made heavenly love to my taste buds and stuck around to cuddle. Let me start at the beginning. Double Chocolate Stout pours pitch black and has a dark brown head. Smelling like fresh cocoa and plate of warm brownies, everything about Rogue Double Chocolate Stout says "Ravish me." I was more than willing to oblige. The brew tastes like milk chocolate and buttery cocoa. Yet, there’s enough coffee and bittersweet dark chocolate tanginess to keep the richness from becoming overbearing. With an ABV of 9%, Rogue’s Stout is dangerously delectable. If you like booze and chocolate, this is a hell of a way to consolidate your vices.

A- Brownie batter, chocolate, mocha.
A- Black color, black liquid, brown head.
T- Brownies, milk chocolate, mocha, roasty.
P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, chocolatey finish.
O- This was like a liquid batch of brownies. Rogue has been hit or miss for me but this one nailed it. If you like chocolate beers without too much sweetness yet all the chocolate goodness this is a must have beer. Hard to believe you can snag a bomber for less than $8 too!
