Dec 13, 2008 2008 Version. It is a slightly hazy, red copper color and the head is huge, golden and creamy. The aroma has notes of spruce, mango, caramel and papaya. The flavour has sweetness and notes of spruce, caramel, mango, citrus and a nice, dry bitterness and a long finish.

Dec 13, 2008 Clear light amber color, thick soapy off-white head. Moderate earthy hop character, butterscotch, sweeter malt base. Same on the taste, kind of a weak finish. Alcohol well-hidden, but doesnt really add to the brew much.

Dec 12, 2008 2008 Bottle. Deep orange with a foamy cream colored head. Great retention and spider web lacing. Lots of big caramel malt aromas, sweet malts and lots of herbal hoppiness. Taste is more big maltiness, light alcohol, light grassy hops. Just an amped up dead guy.

Dec 12, 2008 btl by jcw215. An amber pour with off white head and lace. Brown sugar, medium hops and malt on the nose. Molasses, abv, nice delayed bitter finish. Medium to full bodied beer. Very drinkable beer.

Dec 11, 2008 750ml bottle. Pours clear copper with a big persistent white head. Smell is sweet and malty with some fruit notes. Taste has a nice very carmelly sweetness. Bitterness in the middle and some hoppy herbalness in the finish with a little warming alcohol. Full bodied and nicely carbonated. Overall a solid and enjoyable beer.

Dec 8, 2008 Tap. Pours a hazy golden copper with a small and brief white head. Aroma is caramel, hops, and malt. Taste is caramel malt, citrus hops, and earthy pine notes as well. The beer is pretty smooth and not that carbonated. Solid but not spectacular.

Dec 7, 2008 Aroma is caramel, citrus hops, and a touch of alcohol. Pours a slightly hazy copper with a small white head. Taste is caramel, butterscotch, citrus and pine hops, and a nice smokiness too. Slight metallic bitterness on the back of the tongue. Alcohol is very well-hidden in the flavor. Somehow, this beer reminds me of salty sea water . . . but in a good way. Nice palate; smooth and full-bodied, with low carbonation. Expensive but enjoyable.

Dec 6, 2008 22 oz bottle. pours a light to medium amber with a large head. nice intial aroma with a basic hop profile. over all tastes just like Dead Guy ale but with a bit hight %abv. The beer does do a nice job hiding the increased alcohol.
