| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Oct 26, 2008 Updated: Dec 26, 2008Bottle@Home, Dec 08, 3.2: As the previous rating was from a gathering I thought it was fair to re-rate. However, no improvements, I just dont dig this one. Jasmin, roses, broken young twigs and some citrus. Hazy, orange color, yellowish head, dirty lace. Sweet neutral start, flowers, finish very bitter, grapefruit, bit thinnish. Flavourful, but the grassy bitterness is too one dimensional. Bottle@LCRBM08, Oct 08, 3.4: Sweet malty aroma. Amber color, off-white head, good lace. Very sweet, very bitter, light grassy, toffee, raisin, light soapy in the finish. Sticky but light dry in the finish. I was expecting more from Rogue, this is just ok. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA

Interesting nose - strong caramel, but with a grapefruit note that will not go quietly. Initially sweet, the caramel shines, and a bit of sweet cookie - almost maibock in nature. But look out - here come the hops... earthy and dry, citrus rind late. Big, full bodied, nice lace. A bit hot in the finish. Good, strong showing from Rogue. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 25, 2008 A nice big golden tan head that leaves plenty of sticky lacing. Clear amber. Carbonation takes its time floating to the top. Citrus fruit and caramel in the aroma along with some alcohol. This is a very well hopped beer but they barely balance out the massive amount of caramel malts. It is also full of floral flavors as well as fruit. This is balanced in waves. First the caramel dominates then grapefruit hops take over. All of the waves are big and it is fun to taste them as they crash and fade. Feel is oily and smooth. Bitterness builds as the beer warms and the feel also smooths out even more. couchand (182), Iowa City, Iowa, USA

Light hoppy floral nose, light caramel.
Strong bitterness, sweet as well. Intense yet balanced. Floral, smooth, thick.
Hardly carbonated. oteyj (730), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 24, 2008 Pours copper with excellent head. Aroma is toffee, caramel, and grapefruit hops. Flavor is very sweet and malty, but with unyielding hop bitterness. Somewhat resembles a less intense version of Arrogant bastard. Still pretty good. Palate is resinous and full. craftycarl21 (529), South Hero, Vermont, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 24, 2008 pours a clear ruby with a a big billowy head. Aroma is heavy with toffee and caramel, along with some definite hops. Flavor has notes of caramel, toffee, peanut brittle, and of course malt and hops. Really a nice flavor. Palate sticks nicely. Really good beer. gsmitty80 (638), Washington DC, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Oct 23, 2008 This beer was not what i expected it to be. I thought that it would be a heavier form of the origional but in fact it is lighter. Very strong alcohol content makes for a warm feeling going down and the high malt content leaves a pleasant finish. MMM good.
