DeadGuyFrank (326), http://westchesterbeer.com, USA Mar 8, 2008 Yummy! Cheers to Rogue for using my favorite hops - Cascade for the boil. A richer, bit denser version of the classic favorite Dead Guy. Plenty of familarity for Dead Guy fans, but again more rich, more toasted malt flavor. Very enjoyable, very much recommended.
cathcacr (513), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 19, 2008 At the pub, but available only in bottles. Was pretty good, had a character that I’d describe as "Imperial Bock." It’s a lot like Dead Guy only with pronounced alcohol character and a rich sugary mouthfeel.
CanIHave4Beers (171), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Aug 18, 2008 On tap at El Bait shop in Des Moines. Really just a fantasic beer. The hops are just fantasic, and provide a remarkable bitterness that dominates much of the flavor of this beer. The head was fairly weak, but that’s the only real complaint. Aromas of sweet malt and tons of floral hops. Alcohol is very well hidden. carruthm (357), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 17, 2008 V - clear orange with a light lacy small white head.
A - caramel, brown sugar, hops, mild malts,
T - deep and complex with the same traces as in the aroma but in more detail
P - very smooth with just a touch of woody oak at the very tail end. Naven (705), San Diego, California, USA Aug 17, 2008 A big, bold, harsh beer. Super malty, rich and very sweet. Way overdone. Way way way too much going on for me. bitbucket (1536), Kirkland, Washington, USA Aug 16, 2008 Red (but not ceramic) 750 bottle. Pours clear amber with a dense, thick off-white head. Sweet aroma of toffee and figs. Medium body, light carbonation. Taste of citrus, toffee, caramel, eventually wandering into pine. Earthy/floral bitter finish.
